🧭 ROLE OVERVIEW
We are seeking a seasoned Enterprise Architect to lead the design, implementation, and governance of an enterprise-scale Azure cloud platform for a large public sector organization. This is a strategic, high-visibility role where you will provide architectural leadership across cloud domains — including landing zone design, governance, security, networking, DevOps enablement, and platform resilience.
You will work closely with stakeholders, technical teams, and executive leadership to modernize and future-proof a mission-critical cloud environment with scalable, secure, and automated solutions aligned to the Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF).
🛠️ KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
Cloud Architecture & Platform Design
- Lead the design and implementation of an enterprise-scale Azure cloud platform aligned with Microsoft CAF principles
- Design and oversee Azure infrastructure including VMs, App Services, Storage, and Azure SQL
- Architect and implement enterprise landing zones that support scalability, governance, and security
- Drive transition to commercial Azure and/or cloud-agnostic solutions as needed
- Design networking architecture including hybrid and cloud connectivity solutions
Identity, Security & Compliance
- Establish and maintain Identity and Access Management using Azure AD, RBAC, and Managed Identities
- Enforce security and compliance through Azure Policy, Key Vault, and encryption strategies
- Ensure alignment with judicial and regulatory compliance requirements
- Develop and implement governance frameworks and policy enforcement standards
DevOps & Automation
- Drive DevOps enablement and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC) adoption using ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or similar tools
- Implement and optimize CI/CD pipelines and automation frameworks
- Design scalable platform patterns that support development team velocity and reliability
Monitoring, Optimization & Governance
- Implement monitoring and logging strategies using Azure Monitor and Log Analytics
- Develop and enforce enterprise governance models across cloud domains
- Lead disaster recovery and business continuity planning for cloud workloads
Stakeholder Engagement & Knowledge Transfer
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, technical leads, and executive stakeholders
- Produce comprehensive architecture documentation and reference designs
- Provide ongoing architectural guidance and knowledge transfer to internal teams
- Lead and support cross-functional architecture initiatives
✅ REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 10+ years of enterprise architecture experience — large-scale environments
- Proven, hands-on experience designing and implementing Azure cloud solutions at scale
- Deep expertise in Microsoft Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and landing zone design
- Strong working knowledge of Azure services — VMs, App Services, Storage, Azure SQL
- Demonstrated experience with Azure AD, RBAC, and Managed Identities
- Hands-on experience with security, compliance, and governance frameworks in Azure
- Proficiency with Infrastructure as Code — ARM, Bicep, Terraform, or equivalent
- Experience with DevOps transformation, CI/CD pipelines, and automation
- Solid background in networking design and hybrid/cloud connectivity
- Experience leading cross-functional architecture initiatives in complex organizations
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field
🌟 PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert certification — highly preferred
- TOGAF or equivalent enterprise architecture framework certification
- Experience with cloud-agnostic or multi-cloud strategies
- Background in government, judicial, or regulated public sector environments
- Experience migrating from Government Azure to Commercial Azure
- Knowledge of Cost Optimization and FinOps practices
- Prior experience in large-scale public sector or compliance-heavy environments
- Master's degree in a related technical or business field
