Job Title: Clinician Level 2

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Clinician Level 2 to join our team in delivering comprehensive support services to individuals in need. The role involves providing crisis intervention, diagnostic evaluations, and counseling services to a diverse clientele, including those dealing with mental health issues, homelessness, and substance abuse. You will work collaboratively to develop and implement individualized treatment plans, and participate in community outreach and educational activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide crisis intervention services in response to emotional and/or physical distress.
  • Conduct diagnostic evaluations and refer customers to Licensed Clinicians for treatment.
  • Ensure adherence to infection control practices.
  • Make referrals to external programs for medical and psychological intervention.
  • Collect urine specimens for drug screening.
  • Offer counseling services to mentally ill, alcohol-dependent, and/or homeless AIDS/HIV positive customers.
  • Assess customers to formulate treatment needs.
  • Orient new patients to treatment programs.
  • Participate in treatment planning and individual and/or group counseling.
  • Identify potential customers and provide information about agency programs.
  • Develop, implement, and evaluate comprehensive treatment plans while maintaining regular contact with participants.
  • Complete required paperwork, including customer records, in a timely manner and maintain customer confidentiality.
  • Provide ongoing liaison, referral, and advocacy for participants with social service providers, emphasizing self-empowerment.
  • Participate in team meetings, seminars, and trainings as required.
  • Engage with community providers related to program content areas.
  • Deliver presentations about programs to various agencies on a monthly basis.

Essential Skills

  • Master's degree in social work or related field with a valid license (Licensed Social Worker, LADC, LPC, or equivalent).
  • Minimum of three years of related clinical experience with homelessness, mental health, or substance use.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to motivate individuals and groups.
  • Experience working with participants from diverse ethnic and economic backgrounds.
  • Familiarity with living issues and vocational/educational assessments and trainings.
  • Working knowledge of computer systems.
  • Knowledge of HIV/AIDS, mental health, and substance use disorders (co-occurring).
  • Ability to compile written reports and maintain case notes.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Bilingual skills (Spanish) are nice to have.
  • Experience in facilitating groups preferred.
  • Knowledge of Human Services, Justice, and Court systems is preferred.
  • Counseling experience preferred.
  • Ability to interact with people of diverse backgrounds required.
  • Ability to communicate effectively.

Work Environment

The position operates Monday through Friday, from 8 AM to 5 PM. Candidates must complete a physical examination and TB test prior to appointment. The work environment emphasizes accountability, transparency, and continuous improvement, with regular program audits and staff training to enhance service delivery.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Hartford, CT.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $30.00 - $32.00/hr.
