Roles & Responsibilities:

The Clinical Research Coordinator I will work on: (1) A mixed methods study (quantitative/qualitative) to describe attitudes behaviors and beliefs about the acceptance of non-standard kidney transplants and identify key structural barriers to kidney transplantation ( 2)and to evaluate the feasibility of a pilot intervention designed to improve shared and informed decision-making among kidney transplant candidates. These results will inform national efforts to improve patient and caregiver education about kidney transplantation and organ categories. Working closely with the principal investigators, the CRC I will assist in daily activities of the research study, including maintaining, and organizing study information, IRB documents and protocols, assisting with qualitative data collection and analysis including interviews, and preparing reports and presentations. Analysis and coding of qualitative data will also be a key component of the CRC 1 role. They will be an active member of these teams and of IHER.

  • Collect, maintain, and organize study information using electronic databases
  • Conduct structured and semi-structured interviews with study participants and community stakeholders
  • Obtain informed consent under minimal supervision of the investigator(s) and educate participants regarding study requirements.
  • Correspond with study participants by telephone to schedule appointments and reminder calls for follow-up data collection
  • Assist with qualitative data collection and analysis including coding
  • Assist in preparing study-related documents and maintaining study files, including discussions with the IRB
  • Conduct literature searches and assist in grant submissions as needed
  • Assist in interpreting research data and present findings via various outputs, such as contributing to written works, posters presentations, and graphical representations
  • Assist in all other daily activities of the research study (preparing mailings, study documents, reports, etc.)
  • Other duties as assigned

Requirements:

  • BA/BS required
  • Previous qualitative research experience including analyzing data and interviewing
  • Experience working with diverse populations and urban communities
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office (Excel, Access, Word, Publisher, Powerpoint) and qualitative data analysis software (Dedoose, Atlas.ti, or NVivo).
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Must be a team player, highly attentive to detail and very organized; and must be able to work in a multidisciplinary field and fast-paced environment.
  • Experience with Java, R or Python a plus

Compensation

The Mount Sinai Health System (MSHS) provides a salary range to comply with the New York City Law on Salary Transparency in Job Advertisements. The salary range for the role is $58,661.00 - $80,000.00 Annually. Actual salaries depend on a variety of factors, including experience, education, and hospital need. The salary range or contractual rate listed does not include bonuses/incentive, differential pay or other forms of compensation or benefits.
