Job Title: Clinical Research Assistant

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Clinical Research Assistant for a part-time position in Sioux Falls, SD. This role is a 6-month contract with the potential for extension, offering a flexible schedule of 24 hours per week. The primary focus will be assisting with data entry and administrative tasks supporting clinical trials.

Responsibilities

  • Verify and/or correct research study information on source documents.
  • Research queries and variances and provide feedback to the site data collector.
  • Input research study data into the trial Electronic Data Capture system, ensuring quality control for content, accuracy, and completeness.
  • Prepare and maintain research study files.
  • Compile, collate, and submit study information within established deadlines.
  • Assist in maintenance of regulatory documentation.
  • Schedule subject visits and generate appropriate reports and documents for research subjects prior to visits.
  • Input visit data into the Clinical Trial Management System (CTMS) to track patient visits and procedures completed against the study budget.
  • Process required lab specimens, label vials, and accurately fill out requisitions for storage and/or shipment per the study protocol and packaging and shipment regulations.
  • Perform various administrative support functions such as reception, office organization, and office supply management.

Essential Skills

  • Basic knowledge of clinical trials.
  • In-depth knowledge of departmental, protocol, and study-specific operating procedures, consent forms, and study schedules.
  • Basic knowledge of medical terminology.
  • Proficiency in MS Windows and Office applications such as Access, Outlook, Excel, and Word.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Knowledge of IRB communications and submissions.
  • Experience in patient recruitment and communication.
  • Familiarity with protocol design for prescreening eligible patients.
  • Tech-savvy with the ability to update study portals and manage administrative tasks.
  • Experience with oncology, clinical research, EMR, data management, and document handling.
  • BS/BA in life sciences or educational equivalent and/or relevant work experience in a clinical environment or medical setting (e.g., clinical research coordinator, nurse, medical assistant).

Work Environment

The position is office-based with a typical part-time schedule of 24 hours per week, potentially on Mondays, Thursdays, and either Tuesdays or Wednesdays. The role involves engaging in patient education, community outreach, upkeep of the regulatory binder, and processing and shipment of labs while maintaining study supplies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $33.00 - $34.00/hr.
