Job Description

Join a dynamic team at the Central Clinical Lab and Clinical Specialty Laboratory, where you will perform a variety of highly automated and manual testing to aid in the diagnosis and treatment of patients. This role involves working with advanced technologies in a fast-paced environment, contributing to the lab's impressive annual volume of over 5.5 million tests.

Responsibilities

• Perform analyses on blood, tissue, and body fluids to assist healthcare providers in diagnosing, prognosing, and treating patients.
• Operate and maintain laboratory instruments, troubleshoot assay issues, and evaluate tests for accuracy.
• Assist in interpreting test results and provide operational support to optimize testing processes.
• Utilize multiple computer systems to retrieve information and report results.
• Adhere to safety protocols when handling infectious specimens, chemicals, and other hazards.
• Participate in research studies related to new clinical tests, assessing clinical utility and outcomes.

Essential Skills

• Experience with operation and troubleshooting of laboratory instrumentation and assay systems.
• Ability to produce accurate results under time constraints and perform multitasking in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work closely with others.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in chemistry or a human biological science (e.g., Biology, Chemistry, Microbiology, Biochemistry, Molecular Biology, Neuroscience, etc).

Work Environment

The position involves working night shifts from 10:00pm to 6:30am, Saturday through Wednesday, or a 7-on, 7-off schedule from 8:30pm to 7:00am. The lab uses advanced technologies, including mass spectrometry, nuclear magnetic resonance, ELISA, and chromatography systems. The environment is fast-paced, with a focus on safety and efficiency.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Rochester, MN.

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $24.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Rochester,MN.
