Clinical Director - Outpatient Behavioral Health Facility

Position Overview:
We are seeking a dynamic and experienced Clinical Director for our new, outpatient behavioral health clinic in McKinney, TX. The outpatient clinic will serve adults with mental health and substance abuse disorders. The Clinical Director will play a critical role in overseeing the clinical operations and ensuring high-quality care is delivered. This leadership position combines both clinical expertise and administrative responsibilities, offering the opportunity to shape the direction of the clinic as it grows at this new facility.

Key Responsibilities:
Provide clinical supervision and leadership to a multidisciplinary team, including therapists, counselors, and administrative staff.
Oversee the day-to-day operations of the clinic, ensuring compliance with Texas state regulations and industry best practices.
Develop and implement clinical programs.
Ensure that all clinical services adhere to evidence-based practices and ethical guidelines.
Collaborate with state and local agencies, insurance providers, and community organizations to ensure access to care and resources for clients.
Manage the clinic’s licensure, accreditation (e.g., CARF, TJC), and regulatory compliance, ensuring alignment with both state and federal standards.
Recruit, train, and retain qualified clinical staff while fostering a supportive, growth-oriented work environment.
Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide mentorship to clinical team members.
Work closely with the leadership team to ensure the clinic’s goals are met, including financial sustainability, patient satisfaction, and growth.
Monitor and analyze clinical outcomes, using data to inform program improvements.
Lead business development efforts by building referral relationships, expanding community partnerships, and identifying opportunities for program growth within the region.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree or higher in social work, counseling, psychology, or a related field.
Texas state licensure (LCSW, LPC, LMFT, LPC-S or equivalent) required.
Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in clinical settings, including at least 3 years in a leadership role.
Proven experience in managing outpatient mental health and substance abuse programs.
Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements and accreditation standards, including CARF, TJC, and CMS.
Experience working with commercial, Medicaid, and Medicare payers is highly preferred.
Strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to build relationships with clients, staff, and community partners.
Ability to manage multiple priorities and respond effectively to a fast-paced environment.
Ability to supervise associate clinicians and interns.
Established professional network within the Dallas–Fort Worth (DFW) area, with demonstrated ability to develop referral sources and community partnerships.

Sign-on bonus with option for a contract to full-time to transition to ease transition
