About the Role

We are hiring a Clinical Applications Specialist to cover the Greater Texas and Oklahoma area.

Ideally, they would be located near either Dallas, Austin or Houston, TX.


This is a field position and requires significant travel within an assigned territory, relocation is not offered for this position.


PRIMARY OBJECTIVES

  • Ability to learn and master infection prevention within both the clinical setting (ultrasound) and the sterile processing department (endoscopes).
  • Responsible for medical device installations and client training for clinical use.
  • Primary educator, both externally and internally, on the broader topic of infection prevention, Federal Guidelines and National Standards, best clinical practices, and the medical devices.
  • Primary educator, both externally and internally, on the broader topics of sterile processing and endoscope cleaning and disinfection.
  • Educate on the medical needs for adoption of high-level disinfection of ultrasound probes.
  • Educate on the medical needs for proper cleaning and disinfection of endoscopes.
  • Connect with and maintain a strong, professional repour with all clients within your region.
  • Establish oneself as a regional expert in infection prevention.
  • Establish oneself as a regional expert in the sterile processing environment with specific attention to endoscopes.
  • Assist in the development of medical educational support resources.
  • Ability to strategically manage one’s territory, maintain a high-level of communication to both internal and external stakeholders, effectively prioritize one’s schedule, and have a high business acumen.

  • Desire to learn and broaden one’s medical and scientific understandings.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES & ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Participate in customer engagements to support the sales team throughout the medical device adoption cycle.
  • Support your regional field team (POD) as the local expert in infection prevention and on the medical devices.
  • Provide initial and on-going support and training to clients for medical device related products.
  • Engage and support clients through in-person and virtual meetings, phone calls and emails.
  • Educate and assist clients to improve their infection prevention policies and procedures through alignment with Federal Guidelines and National Standards.
  • Provide scientific and medical guidance through client department and facility clinical assessments
  • Participate and present medical education material at local and regional meetings
  • Perform client medical device installations, education, and training activities (“in-service”) with active coordination with your POD(s).
  • Provide client education and support throughout the product adoption cycle to ensure proper and full utilization of the medical devices and its accessories.
  • Provide proactive problem solving and timely follow-up of customer needs. Identify and utilize available internal support resources, with elevation of issues when appropriate.
  • Research and communicate clinical market needs and competitive market information.
  • Represent Nanosonics by attending and participating in local, regional, and national organizational meetings or events appropriate to responsibilities.
  • Participate in product development, quality control and research & development activities as directed by the Medical Director.


SKILLS, KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE


  • Direct knowledge of Infection Prevention guidelines and processes with large industry users such as hospitals, clinics, and other medical facilities.
  • Experience in infection control and risk management.
  • BS degree or equivalent (nursing, public health or epidemiology and/or other healthcare experience).
  • Ideal candidate must be a self-starter and have strong history of achievement in client development with ability to multi-task and work with ambiguity.
  • Direct knowledge of key accounts with established relationships.
  • Minimum of three years related clinical or medical experience.
  • Health care sales experience is a plus
  • Health care experience as a licensed clinician or equivalent, experience in endoscopy or infection control areas and/or APIC CIC a plus
  • Active involvement in relevant professional organizations.


The candidate could have a background in any of the following:

  • Ultrasound (Sonographer)
  • Endoscopy Technician or Nurse
  • Sterile Processing
  • Infection Prevention


  • Strong presence with prospecting skills ability.
  • High energy level with demonstrated motivation and creativity
  • Demonstrated capability in relationship management with multiple stakeholders.
  • Excellent presentation and communication skills.
  • Ability to identify sales leads and successfully market products.
  • Willingness and ability to travel extensively (weekly travels).
  • Ability to lift, carry, and move items weighing up to 50 pounds

Pay range and compensation package

Annual salary $90,000 to $97,000 with an opportunity for a quarterly bonus
