Thursday 3:00pm-8:00pm, Friday 9:00am-2:00pm, and Saturday-Sunday 12:00pm-5:00pm

This is a journey level clerical position. While a wide variety of tasks may be assigned, each step usually fits a pattern, which has been established and explained before work is begun.
EXAMPLE OF DUTIES:Depending on assignment, duties may include, but are not limited to the following: receives, prepares, stamps, routes, distributes and files a wide variety of materials and payments in accordance with prescribed program procedures; prepares collections for audits and deposit. Regularly receives the public on the phone and/or in person; provides routine, factual information and directs callers to appropriate offices/people. Types correspondence, lists, cards, addresses, labels and forms from written material; proofreads and/or corrects typed material for completeness and/or spelling; grammatical or punctuation accuracy. Conducts a simple record-keeping by transferring data, matching, sorting, tabulating and filing data and records; maintains cross-reference by assigning or checking filing codes or items based on material/document content; establishes and maintains records and a filing system in accordance with prescribed procedures which may include reviewing file for accuracy and completeness; searches for materials through use of indexes or file search. Collates/staples materials by hand or machine; folds; inserts and seals materials in envelopes. Operates a variety of office equipment, such as photocopiers, word processors. May handle information regarding controversial matter or affairs of a sensitive nature with diverse implications. Operates cash register, computer terminals adding or calculating machines. Provides temporary and vacation relief in similar occupational fields as necessary.
Knowledge of: Working knowledge of office methods and procedures; office equipment operation; public contact techniques.
Skills/Abilities: Use correct English grammar, punctuation, and spelling; proofread; understand and follow verbal and written instructions; alphabetize or numerically/chronologically sort materials; operate a variety of office equipment; receive the public in person and over the phone; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.
Experience and/or Education: Any combination of experience and/or training in the clerical occupational field which demonstrates the attainment of journey level skills as well as an orientation to the office work environment. Education equivalent to graduation from high school is desirable.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
Ability to lift up to 15 pounds is required. Position requires prolonged sitting, standing, walking, reaching, twisting, turning, kneeling, bending, squatting, crouching and stooping in the performance of daily office activities. The position also requires grasping, repetitive hand movement, and fine coordination in retrieving and entering data using a computer keyboard. Additionally, the position requires near and far vision in reading work related documents and using the computer, and acute hearing is required when providing phone and personal service.
WORK ENVIRONMENT:
Employee generally works indoors. Environment is generally clean with limited exposure to conditions such as dust, fumes, or odors. Noise level in the work environment is usually moderate but the employee may occasionally be exposed to loud talking and interruptions from telephones and/or members of the public.
