Cleaner

This role is responsible for performing detailed final cleaning in a large data center construction environment. You will ensure that server rooms, equipment, and facility areas are clean, dust-free, and ready for use by carefully wiping, sweeping, mopping, and sanitizing surfaces, including work at heights on ladders and lifts.

Responsibilities

• Perform final cleaning of the data center facility, including server rooms and surrounding areas.
• Wipe down server racks, equipment, and related surfaces to remove dust and debris.
• Sweep, mop, and dust floors, walls, and other facility surfaces as assigned.
• Work at heights of approximately 8 feet on a ladder to dust servers, wires, and elevated surfaces using a broom duster or similar tools.
• Operate scissor lifts or boom lifts safely when required for elevated cleaning tasks, if certified.
• Follow all site safety protocols and use required personal protective equipment at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness of tools, equipment, and work areas throughout the shift.
• Communicate professionally with on-site personnel and respond to cleaning requests as needed.
• Report any safety concerns, equipment issues, or facility damage to the appropriate site contact.
• Adhere to schedules and instructions to ensure all assigned cleaning tasks are completed within the allotted time.

• Prior cleaning experience, ideally in a commercial or industrial setting.
• Experience working on commercial or industrial construction sites.
• Ability to perform housekeeping tasks including sweeping, mopping, dusting, and sanitizing.
• Comfort working at heights, including standing approximately 8 feet up on a ladder.
• Ability to safely use ladders for extended periods while performing cleaning tasks.
• Experience operating or working around scissor lifts or boom lifts, with lift certification strongly preferred.
• Understanding of basic safety practices on construction sites.
• Ability to follow detailed instructions and work independently with minimal supervision.
• Physical ability to stand, walk, bend, climb, and lift as needed for a full shift.

• Janitorial or sanitation experience in commercial, industrial, or similar environments.
• Customer service experience involving direct interaction with customers or site personnel.
• Experience using buffers or other powered cleaning equipment.
• Familiarity with general construction site practices and protocols.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to maintaining a clean, organized environment.
• Reliable attendance and punctuality for a consistent Monday through Friday schedule.

Work Environment

This position is based on a commercial/industrial construction site for a data center facility. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday from 3:00 p.m. to 11:00 p.m. You will work indoors in an active construction environment, frequently around server racks, wiring, and other technical infrastructure. The role involves regular work at heights on ladders and potentially on scissor or boom lifts when certified. Personal protective equipment is required; you are expected to wear jeans and steel-toe boots, while all additional PPE will be provided on site. The environment emphasizes safety, adherence to construction site protocols, and teamwork with other contractors and site personnel.

Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Abilene, TX.

The pay range for this position is $20.00 - $20.00/hr.

This is a fully onsite position in Abilene,TX.
