Class Checker (Staff Wage)

The Department of Athletics, Academic Affairs is hiring part-time Class Checkers. The role of a Class Checker is to monitor and record class attendance of student-athletes. Class Checkers will receive a schedule of classes for which to check attendance of designated student-athletes.

Class Checkers receive training from the Academic Affairs staff regarding the expectations for monitoring, recording, and reporting the class attendance of student-athletes.

Class Checkers must have reliable transportation to UVA.

This is a wage position which is not eligible for leave or other benefits and is limited to 1500 hours of work in a year. For more information, refer to the Wage Employment link: http://uvapolicy.virginia.edu/policy/HRM-029.

Anticipated Position Compensation: $15.00 Hourly

Required Qualifications:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Several years of work experience in any field
  • Ability to maintain professionalism, confidentiality, and be reliable
  • Ability to demonstrate integrity
  • Punctuality (must arrive to designated class location 15 minutes before class starts and stay for 20 minutes after class starts)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Must have reliable transportation to UVA
  • Microsoft Office
