Job Description

This position offers a regional Class A CDL driving opportunity operating a flatbed truck to haul rolls of drainpipe for field tile and, at times, grain products. The route network primarily covers Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, and North Dakota, with regular runs between multiple yard locations and nearby destinations. The role focuses on consistent, predictable routes with the benefit of being home almost every night.

Responsibilities

  • Operate a Class A CDL flatbed truck safely and professionally on regional routes across Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, and North Dakota.
  • Transport rolls of drainpipe for field tile between the main shed and various tile yards, ensuring secure and compliant load handling.
  • Haul grain and related agricultural products as needed, following all safety and transportation regulations.
  • Run regular routes between locations such as Buxton, North Dakota and Fairmont, Minnesota, as well as multiple tile yards in Minnesota, South Dakota, and Iowa.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the truck and trailer to ensure roadworthiness and compliance with safety standards.
  • Secure loads properly on the flatbed using appropriate equipment and techniques to prevent shifting or damage during transport.
  • Follow all federal, state, and local traffic laws and regulations, including hours-of-service requirements.
  • Maintain accurate logs and documentation as required for deliveries, routes, and inspections.
  • Communicate effectively with dispatch and yard personnel regarding schedules, route changes, and delivery status.
  • Represent the company professionally when interacting with customers, yard staff, and the public.

Essential Skills

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL).
  • Ability to safely operate a Class A flatbed truck over regional routes.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to DOT regulations and hours-of-service rules.
  • Capability to secure loads on a flatbed, including rolls of drainpipe and grain products, using appropriate tie-down methods.
  • Strong focus on safety, compliance, and defensive driving.
  • Ability to complete accurate pre-trip and post-trip inspections and maintain required documentation.
  • Willingness to travel regularly between multiple locations in Minnesota, Iowa, South Dakota, and North Dakota.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Previous experience driving a Class A CDL flatbed truck is beneficial.
  • Experience hauling agricultural products such as drainpipe and grain is a plus.
  • Familiarity with regional driving in the upper Midwest is advantageous.
  • Strong communication skills for coordinating with dispatch and yard teams.
  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and adapt to changing route needs.

Job Type & Location

This is a Permanent position based out of Barrett, MN.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $52000.00 - $70000.00/yr.
