Position Overview: Civil/Structural Engineer
As a Civil/Structural Engineer, you will collaborate with a team of engineers to deliver high-quality design solutions and technical support across a variety of projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Work within established project schedules and deadlines
- Review and apply relevant design criteria, codes, and standards
- Define project scope and clearly establish deliverables
- Design and analyze foundations for heavy equipment and structural systems
- Design and evaluate industrial buildings, including mill structures
- Develop fall protection systems in compliance with OSHA standards
- Perform structural modifications and upgrades to crane runways, including load capacity analysis and reinforcement design
- Conduct structural analysis using industry-standard software and methodologies
- Prepare detailed engineering drawings, specifications, and technical reports
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering (PE licensure not required)
- 3–5 years of experience applying civil/structural engineering principles
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications
- Strong communication skills, including the ability to interface with clients regarding project status and deliverables
- Willingness to travel to client sites for meetings and data collection
Technical Skills
- Proficiency in AutoCAD and SolidWorks
- Familiarity with STAAD or similar structural analysis software
- Knowledge of applicable industry codes and standards (e.g., Technical Report No. 13, CMAA, AIST TR-6, AISC)
- Experience working in heavy industrial or manufacturing environments preferred
