Chief Operating Officer (COO)

Reports to: Chief Executive Officer (CEO)


Position Overview

Our Client is currently seeing a Chief Operating Officer (COO) is a key member of the executive leadership team responsible for overseeing the organization’s day-to-day administrative and operational functions. This role ensures that business operations are efficient, scalable, and aligned with the company’s strategic objectives. The COO works closely with the CEO and other executives to drive growth, optimize performance, and foster a high-performance culture.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage daily business operations across departments including [e.g., Operations, Business Development, HR, Finance, IT, Customer Success]
  • Translate company strategy into actionable operational plans and measurable outcomes
  • Establish and monitor KPIs to drive performance, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Optimize processes, systems, and workflows to improve efficiency and scalability
  • Oversee budgeting, forecasting, and resource allocation in partnership with Finance
  • Ensure operational compliance with legal, regulatory, and company policies
  • Build and mentor high-performing leadership teams
  • Drive cross-functional collaboration and alignment across the organization
  • Identify and mitigate operational risks
  • Support mergers, acquisitions, and strategic partnerships as needed
  • Champion company culture, values, and employee engagement initiatives


Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Operations, or related field (MBA or CPA advanced degree preferred)
  • 10–15+ years of progressive leadership experience
  • Proven track record of scaling operations and driving organizational growth
  • Strong financial acumen and experience managing budgets and P&L
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and decision-making skills
  • Experience implementing operational best practices and process improvements
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, dynamic environment


Preferred Experience

  • MBA and CPA a plus
  • Consulting experience would be a plus
  • HR exposure is a plus,
