The Opportunity
SP Ventures is looking for a Chief of Staff to work side-by-side with the founder every single day. This is not a remote role and it is not a traditional corporate job. This is for someone who wants to be in the room where deals happen, help run a growing portfolio of companies, and build something real.
We are an investment and operating firm that acquires, builds, and scales businesses across multiple industries. We run a portfolio of companies spanning healthcare, services, and industrial sectors — ranging from early-stage launches to multi-million dollar acquisitions. We move fast, we use AI aggressively to stay lean, and we're building a holding company that will be worth something significant.
You will be the founder's right hand. If you've been in private equity, worked at a search fund, done M&A at a bank, or built your own thing and want to do it again alongside someone who's already in motion — this is your role.
What You'll Do
No two days will look the same. Here's the scope:
Deals & Acquisitions (Buy-Side and Sell-Side)
• Source, evaluate, and underwrite acquisition targets across multiple industries
• Build financial models, run due diligence, and prepare investment memos and CIMs
• Manage deal processes end-to-end: from LOI through close
• Coordinate with attorneys, accountants, lenders, and investors on active transactions
• Help structure SPVs, raise capital, and manage investor communications
• Support sell-side processes: prepare businesses for sale, build marketing materials, manage buyer outreach, and drive transactions to close
Portfolio Operations
• Work directly with portfolio company leadership on strategy, KPIs, and execution
• Get embedded inside our companies — understand the P&Ls, know the teams, and help drive results
• Identify operational improvements and help implement them (AI tools, process automation, team structure)
• Track financial performance across the portfolio and flag issues before they become problems
• Support product launches, market entry, and growth initiatives across the portfolio
Content & Brand
• Serve as head of content for the founder's personal brand across LinkedIn and Twitter/X
• Develop and execute a content calendar that builds audience, credibility, and deal flow
• Write, edit, and schedule posts, threads, and long-form content that reflects the founder's voice
• Repurpose deal insights, lessons learned, and portfolio wins into compelling content
• Track engagement metrics and iterate on what's working
Team & Organization
• Help recruit, onboard, and organize teams across portfolio companies
• Build the systems, processes, and rhythms that keep a lean organization running
• Manage contractors, freelancers, and agency relationships
• Be the person who makes sure nothing falls through the cracks
Strategy & Founder Support
• Be the founder's thought partner on everything: deals, hiring, capital allocation, priorities
• Manage calendars, communications, and follow-ups that keep the machine running
• Prepare materials for investor meetings, partner calls, and board-level decisions
Who You Are
• 2-5+ years in private equity, investment banking, M&A advisory, search funds, or entrepreneurship
• You've actually done deals — buy-side and ideally sell-side too. You know what an LOI looks like, you've sat in a closing, you understand cap tables and deal structures
• You have experience helping prepare and sell businesses — whether through a formal sell-side advisory role, running a process for a portfolio company, or brokering a deal yourself
• You can write. You're comfortable creating content for social media, drafting investor updates, and putting together materials that look and read like they came from a top-tier firm
• You're a natural organizer who can build systems, manage people, and keep multiple workstreams moving without dropping the ball
• You're entrepreneurial by nature. You've either started something yourself or you've been the first hire at a place where you had to figure everything out
• Based in Miami (or willing to relocate) and want to be in the office every day. This is an in-person role, full stop
• Comfortable with ambiguity. We don't have playbooks for everything. You'll be writing them
• A fast learner who can go from knowing nothing about an industry to building a financial model on it in 48 hours
• You're hungry. You want equity, you want upside, and you want to build a career, not just have a job
• You're an AI power user. You use ChatGPT, Claude, or similar tools daily to move faster, automate workflows, build analyses, and get more done in less time. You see AI as a force multiplier, not a novelty
