Our client, an established publicly traded organization operating within a complex, product-driven environment, is seeking a Chief Financial Officer to join its executive leadership team. This role will be instrumental in elevating financial operations, strengthening reporting capabilities, and building the infrastructure needed to support continued growth.
This is a hands-on leadership position for someone who can operate both strategically and tactically—bringing structure, visibility, and scalability to the finance function while partnering closely with operations and executive leadership.
A key mandate is the modernization of financial processes and tighter alignment between core business functions and financial reporting through improved systems, automation, and cross-functional integration.
Transition support will be provided to ensure continuity across reporting and finance operations.
What Sets This Role Apart:
- High-impact leadership role with direct influence on business performance and scalability
- Opportunity to modernize and shape the finance function
- Visible partnership with executive leadership and board stakeholders
- Environment that values both strategic thinking and hands-on execution
What You’ll Own:
- Lead financial reporting, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close, ensuring accuracy and compliance with U.S. GAAP
- Oversee public company reporting (10-K, 10-Q, 8-K) and serve as primary liaison to external auditors and advisors
- Partner with executive leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and long-range planning, providing insight into profitability, cost drivers, and capital allocation
- Monitor key financial metrics including cash flow, working capital, and margins across business lines
- Drive modernization of accounting systems and processes, improving ERP utilization, data integrity, and cross-functional visibility
- Design and implement scalable workflows across purchasing, inventory, manufacturing, and revenue cycles
- Identify and execute automation opportunities to reduce manual processes and improve reporting speed and accuracy
- Establish and standardize best practices, policies, and SOPs to build a more efficient, systems-driven finance function
- Lead, mentor, and develop the accounting team, strengthening technical capabilities and overall performance
- Build a scalable finance organization aligned with growth, without proportional increases in headcount
- Strengthen internal controls and ensure compliance with public company requirements and audit standards
- Improve documentation, consistency, and discipline across accounting policies and procedures
What You Bring:
- 8–10+ years of progressive experience in accounting and finance, with increasing leadership responsibility
- Strong technical accounting foundation with deep knowledge of U.S. GAAP and financial reporting
- Experience in a publicly traded environment or direct exposure to SEC reporting (10-K, 10-Q, etc.)
- Proven experience leveraging ERP systems to lead implementations, optimize workflows, and drive scalable process improvements and automation
- Background in manufacturing or inventory-driven environments (preferred)
- Demonstrated ability to build, standardize, and improve accounting processes, controls, and SOPs
- Experience mentoring and developing accounting teams in a hands-on environment
- CPA designation (preferred)
- Experience operating in small to mid-sized or growth-oriented organizations, with the ability to balance strategic leadership and day-to-day execution (preferred)
