MajorDuties

  • The candidate selected for this position will: Oversee the operational and technical management and operations of the fields of finance and accounting, investment management, and accounting (both accounts payable and accounts receivable as well as debt collection). Plan and direct the efficiency and effectiveness of the financial management programs and operations of the corporation. Oversee the active management of PBGC's multi-billion-dollar investment portfolio. This includes the implementation and execution of the corporation's investment strategy within regulatory guidelines; as well as cash management to ensure liquidity for benefit payments.

Education

Education is not required; however, the education and/or certifications below are highly desirable. Degree Preferred: A bachelor's or advanced degree in accounting, finance, economics, business administration, or a closely related field that provides a strong foundation in financial theory and capital markets. Desired Professional Certifications: Certifications such as Certified Public Accountant (CPA), Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA), or equivalent credentials are highly desirable.

Skill in finance and accounting, information resource management, management of investment portfolios, and management of financial audits. 2. Skill in establishing organizational financial direction and providing executive oversight of investment management, accounting operations, and financial internal control frameworks within a large organization. 3. Specific knowledge and skill in the management of investment portfolios.
