Dallas Police & Fire Pension System is seeking a Chief Financial Officer. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Chief Financial Officer serves as a key member of the executive leadership team, responsible for all accounting, budgeting, and financial reporting functions. This role blends hands-on financial leadership with strategic oversight, requiring both technical excellence and strong collaboration across the organization. The next CFO will be a financially astute, collaborative leader who brings both technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills. The ideal candidate will:
Be a CPA or possess equivalent advanced governmental accounting expertise
Have experience in public sector, pension systems, or audit/accounting environments
Demonstrate strong knowledge of GASB standards, financial reporting, and internal controls
Bring working knowledge of actuarial funding concepts and investment accounting
Be a hands-on leader comfortable operating in a small organization
Exhibit strong communication skills, emotional intelligence, and adaptability
Be a problem solver and consensus builder who can work effectively with strong personalities
