Job Description
This remote Pharmacy Technician role focuses on reviewing and processing prior authorizations for a large healthcare insurance pharmacy services department. You will evaluate prescription exception requests, determine whether to approve or deny them based on established criteria, and route them to a pharmacist for final review. The position involves working with all health plans and a wide range of medications, supporting both members and prescribers through claim resolution, outreach, and issue escalation.

Work Environment
This is a fully remote, professional pharmacy services position. You will work from your own dedicated office space with a closed door to ensure privacy and focus. A reliable high-speed Wi‑Fi connection and a smartphone are required. The company provides core equipment, including a computer, monitor, and headset. Training runs from 10:00 a.m. to 6:30 p.m. Eastern Time; after training, you will transition to a regular shift within the Monday–Friday 8:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m. window in your local time zone. The schedule includes rotating weekend shifts approximately every 4–6 weeks and some holiday coverage, with holiday schedules assigned through a bidding process. You will work in multiple systems and across several screens, handling pharmacy benefit and prior authorization tasks in a structured, metrics-driven environment. The role offers the potential to convert to a permanent position, providing long-term career stability and access to benefits and paid time off upon becoming permanent.
Job Type & LocationThis is a Contract to Hire position based out of Raleigh, NC.
Pay and BenefitsThe pay range for this position is $20.00 - $23.00/hr.
