Certified Medical Assistant (Outpatient) Full Time, Day Shift

Job Summary:

Performs non-invasive, routine, technical support services under the specific authorization and supervision of a licensed physician, podiatrist, physician assistant, nurse practitioner or nurse midwife.

Join our Clinic Float Team as a Medical Assistant covering open shifts in primary care and urgent care clinics across the east Portland metro area. This role requires someone who is extremely dependable, self‑sufficient, and able to adapt quickly to different clinic environments with minimal direction.

Key details:

• At least one year of Medical Assistant experience: Required
• Availability on short notice between 7:00 AM–8:00 PM, 7 days a week
• Travel between clinic locations: Required
• Mileage reimbursement and shift differential pay

Job Requirements:

Education and Work Experience:

• High School Education/GED or equivalent: Required

Licenses/Certifications:

• Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited institution: Required
• Basic Life Support (BLS OR HS-BLS OR RQIBLS) Health Care Provider certification: Required
• Successful completion of audiometry and vision training or have a certificate from CHDP: Preferred
• Phlebotomy certificate: Preferred

Facility Specific License/Certifications:

• AHA-BLS or ARC-BLS: Required
• Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) or California Certified Medical Assistant (CCMA) or Medical Assistant - NCCT (NCCT) or Certified Medical Assistant- NHA (CMA-NHA) or Nationally Registered Certified Medical Assistant (NRCMA) or Registered Medical Assistant (RMA) or Medical Assistant (MA) or American Medical Tech Board MA (MA-AMT) or Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) or National Emergency Medical Tech (NEMT): Required

Essential Functions:

• Sets up exam rooms and checks in patients. Maintains a patient recall system, including continuity of care log for lab tests, referrals and transfers.
• Obtains vital signs, and reports significant findings and pertinent patient observations to clinic physician.
• Performs audiometry and vision testing.
• Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
