Job Description

This position offers an opportunity for a Certified Medical Assistant to support a busy medical office by providing high-quality clinical and administrative assistance. You will work closely with providers and patients to ensure efficient patient flow, accurate documentation, and compassionate care in a professional healthcare setting.

Responsibilities

  • Update patient charts accurately and promptly to ensure complete and current medical records.
  • Room patients efficiently, including verifying patient information, obtaining vital signs, and preparing patients for examinations or procedures.
  • Answer and manage messages from providers, including relaying information to patients and coordinating follow-up actions as needed.
  • Use the electronic medical record (EMR), including Epic, to document patient encounters, retrieve information, and support clinical workflows.
  • Apply medical terminology appropriately when documenting and communicating patient information.
  • Provide courteous and responsive customer service to patients, families, and clinical staff.
  • Support daily medical office operations by assisting providers and team members with patient care tasks and administrative duties.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and handle sensitive patient information in accordance with applicable policies and regulations.
  • Contribute to a safe, clean, and organized clinical environment.
Essential Skills
  • Active Certified Medical Assistant (CMA) certification.
  • At least 6 months of recent experience working in a medical office setting.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in medical assisting in an outpatient or clinic environment.
  • Strong customer service skills with the ability to interact professionally with patients and clinical staff.
  • Working knowledge of medical terminology and patient information workflows.
  • Experience using electronic medical records (EMR), including Epic.
  • Ability to accurately update charts and document clinical information.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple tasks in a clinical setting.
  • Commitment to maintaining patient confidentiality and following healthcare regulations.
Additional Skills & Qualifications
  • Formal training or education in medical assisting.
  • Experience in a healthcare, hospital, or clinic environment.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a multidisciplinary healthcare team.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to adapt to evolving clinical protocols and technologies.
Work Environment

This role is based in a professional medical office within a respected, nonprofit community teaching health system that emphasizes patient care, education, and research. The environment combines compassionate, individualized patient care with advanced technologies and evidence-based clinical practices. You will use electronic medical records, including Epic, and work closely with an experienced, highly credentialed medical staff. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Cranbury, NJ.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $25.00/hr.
