Certified Dental Assistant

Adecco Healthcare & Life Sciences is hiring a Certified Dental Assistant for our client in Newark, New Jersey! This role is in person / onsite. Please read below and apply with an updated resume for consideration.

Location: Newark, NJ

Duration: 4-month contract (possible extension/full time offer)

Pay: $25/hour

Position Summary

The Certified Dental Assistant provides direct patient care and chairside support during dental procedures. This role assists clinical staff in patient evaluation and treatment while ensuring a safe, clean, and organized care environment. Works under the supervision of a Staff Nurse and supports patients across all age groups.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide chairside assistance during dental and oral maxillofacial procedures
• Deliver direct patient care following individualized treatment plans
• Monitor and record vital signs (BP, pulse, temperature, respiration, intake/output)
• Take, develop, and label dental X-rays as ordered
• Ensure accurate patient identification prior to treatment
• Support care planning by communicating patient status to the care team
• Maintain cleanliness, safety, and organization of the clinical environment
• Deliver excellent customer service to patients, staff, and providers

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Completion of an accredited Dental Assisting Program
• Certified Dental Assistant (CDA) and Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Assistant certification required
• CPR certification required
• Registered Dental Assistant in New Jersey
• Valid NJ Dental Radiologic Technology License
• Ability to perform basic clinical procedures (vitals, patient support)
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel

Preferred

• Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Anesthesia Assistant certification
• 2+ years of related experience
