The Role:
Entry-level support of certification of In-Flight Entertainment (IFE) systems by managing certification related issues with various other departments. Support preparing/providing technical documentation and coordinating/conducting various types of testing. Under guidance of Sr. Engineering Group.
Responsibilities
Major Responsibilities:
Technical
- Generate Structural Test Plan, Qualification Plan, and establishing Qualification Basis for various OEMs (Airframe manufactures) and Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) as well as European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) per company work instructions.
- Interface and discuss and with senior certification engineer on Structural Test Plan/Procedure, Qualification Plan, and establishing Qualification Basis.
Ability to create a Finite Element Model in PATRAN/MSc NASTRAN of a large monument, shroud, avionics rack, bracket/fitting, etc.
- Ability to run Nastran Solution 101 and 103, and interpreted the results.
- Ability to prepare stress analysis report, interface loads report, static test plan/report or vibration report.
- Ability to perform hands analysis for FEM validation.
- Review all related documentation [drawings, test plans, Enterprise Change Requests (ECRs), Enterprise Change Order (ECO), and Notice of Change (NOCs)] are technically accurate and consistent before release.
Testing
- Responsible for the successful completion of qualification tests in a timely manner.
- Review and support for technical correctness, accuracy, and release of qualification reports as well as substantiation documentation within established work instructions and processes.
- Learn to perform pre-qualification (engineering tests) to identify failures during product development and provide technical solutions to problems
Project Management
- Report progress on Design and Development schedules and assigned tasks working with Project Managers, Team Leaders, and Engineering Managers.
- Work with senior certification engineer on technical approach, qualification plan, and priority.
The pay range of $31.73 - $53.85 is just one component of Panasonic’s total package. The final offer amount may vary based on factors including but not limited to individual’s knowledge, skills, experience, and location. In addition, this role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
QualificationsEducation / Experience Requirements:
- BS in Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, Electrical Engineering, System Engineer, Civil engineer, Physics, Materials Science or equivalent degree. Masters preferred.

- Ability to multi-task between projects.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS
- Ability to travel to Japan and other domestic and international locations approximately 5% of the time.
