VANTHCS VA North Texas Health Care System (VANTHCS) is the second busiest VA system in the nation and we are growing! Comprised of the Dallas VA Medical Center, Sam Rayburn Memorial Veterans Center in Bonham, Fort Worth Outpatient Clinic and Tyler VA Primary Care Clinic, VANTHCS is an integrated health care system with approximately 4,000 employees and over 1,600 volunteers and clinical trainees. VANTHCS also coordinates a Community Based Outpatient Clinic program throughout its 40-county primary service area to improve access to care for veterans throughout 38 North Texas and 2 in southern Oklahoma. Through these four distinctive facilities and relationships with other agencies, VANTHCS offers a continuum of health care services to a veteran population of approximately 500,000. MajorDuties

  • Duties may include but are not limited to: Responsible for a variety of carpentry construction duties such as alters and installs of walls, floors, ceilings, roofs, door and windows in all buildings on the VANTHCS sites. Constructs new drywall partitions and other temporary structures of wood construction. Installs windows and doors, mortising doors adjusting as necessary to assure proper fitting. Cuts and installs trim material around new work and cased openings such as baseboard, ceiling mold, chair-rails ad picture molding. Installs acoustical ceilings and floor coverings of all types including carpet. Builds forms for concrete walks, road curbing and steps. Works with formica, laminate coverings and paneling. Makes new furniture such as tables, cabinets, and work benches. Constructions and installs bulletin boards, black boards, cabinets, and shelving among other carpentry duties as needed.
