Calibration Technician
Pay Rate: $36-$42/hr
Required Skills & Experience
- US Secret Clearance
- 3 years of relevant experience in calibration, troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair of GPTE and calibration standards.
- Relevant experience with ISO 17025, Joint Naval Audit Certification, Navy quality control, or similar. ISO 9001:2015 experience or equivalent is a plus.
- Must be able to learn new skills in regard to calibration and processes.
- Working knowledge and experience with basic hand tools and electronic tools.
- Requires Basic Electrical and Electronics formal education.
- Requires Formal Calibration Education. Any of these classifications:
Navy NEC: 6673, 6718, I25A, I31A, 719B, 95AA, 1589, 729A, 4675, 765A.
Marine MOS Codes: 2871, 2874, 6492. Army MOS: 35H, 94H.
Air Force AFSCs: 2P031, 2P051.
American Society for Quality Certified Calibration Technician (ASQ-CCT).

- Precision Measurement Equipment (PME)
- Test, Measurement, and Diagnostic Equipment (TMDE)
- American Society for Quality (ASQ) Certified Calibration Technician (CCT)

- General Purpose Test Equipment (GPTE)
- Experience with Navy's METBENCH Calibration Management System (MCMS) and Race is a plus.
Job Description
- Conducts electric/electronic or physical/mechanical calibration and preventive maintenance on a wide variety of General Purpose Test Equipment (GPTE) and Automated Test Equipment (ATE) in accordance with Navy calibration procedures.
- Understands and applies uncertainties to measurements made.
- Maintains calibration standards.
- Follows written Quality Manual and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs). Performs quality assignments such as 5S ("sort", "set in order", "shine", "standardize" and "sustain").
- Performs calibration work with little to no supervision.
- Researches requirements, technical documentation, parts, and obsolescence alternatives as necessary.
- Conducts calibration work at customer sites (if applicable) with little to no direction.
- Maintains lab compliance with external specifications, standards, and regulations.
- Continues to develop working knowledge of all operating standards, practices, and procedures, including safety procedures.
