Job Description

The Calibration Technician II role involves applying expertise in measurement science, mathematics, physics, and electronics to calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment across various disciplines. These disciplines include acoustical, chemical, dimensional, DC/low frequency, RF/microwave, fluid, mechanical, optical, thermodynamics, and time & frequency. This position ensures measurement accuracy through the identification and utilization of appropriate manual and automated procedures. The role typically requires minimal supervision and involves completing moderately complex tasks, performing lab housekeeping, administrative duties, and occasionally providing opinions and interpretations.

Responsibilities

  • Calibrate inspection, measurement, and test equipment (IM&TE) across multiple disciplines.
  • Maintain primary/intrinsic and secondary/working calibration standards.
  • Troubleshoot, maintain, and repair precision equipment.
  • Develop calibration procedures based on technical specifications.
  • Collect and record calibration data, and correct out-of-tolerance conditions and measurement errors.
  • Prepare calibration reports and certificates.
  • Adapt equipment and techniques for unique measurement tasks.
  • Perform uncertainty evaluations and analysis.
  • Train junior technicians in calibration procedures.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and customers.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills

  • Proficiency in general math, algebra, and basic statistics.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Technical writing ability.
  • Experience in calibration, signal generation, pressure, temperature, torque, and spectrum analysis.
  • 4+ years of calibration experience.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

  • Experience with pressure testing, temperature testing, and torque testing.
  • Proficiency in using spectrum analyzers, signal generators, RF systems, and test equipment.
  • Background in electronics and RF testing.

Work Environment

The work environment consists of a small team of 12 technicians located on-site in Redmond, WA. After the training period, there is an opportunity to work directly at client sites, with approximately 25% of the time spent at client locations and 75% at the calibration lab in Redmond. This position offers the opportunity to support various aerospace and defense customer tooling and calibration needs.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Redmond, WA.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $35.00 - $42.00/hr.
