Calibration / Equipment Maintenance Technician


  • LOCATION: East Hanover, NJ
  • PAY RATE: $60,000-$80,000/annually
  • SCHEDULE: Monday thru Friday; 8am-4pm


Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Calibration & Equipment Maintenance Technician to join a leading manufacturer in the aerospace and chemical processing industry. This role is critical for ensuring that all production, laboratory, and facility equipment operates safely, reliably, and in strict compliance with quality requirements. You will be responsible for the full lifecycle of sophisticated equipment, from installation and calibration to troubleshooting and complex repairs.


Key Responsibilities

  • Calibration: Perform routine and scheduled calibration of measurement, test, and production equipment using documented procedures and standards.
  • Maintenance & Repair: Conduct preventive and corrective maintenance on rotary equipment, chemical process machinery, and facility assets to ensure optimal performance and minimal downtime.
  • Technical Troubleshooting: Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and electronic equipment issues.
  • Documentation: Maintain meticulous calibration and maintenance records, logs, and technical documentation in accordance with company policies.
  • Vendor Coordination: Identify equipment deficiencies and coordinate complex repairs with external vendors and service providers when necessary.
  • Equipment Support: Assist with the installation, qualification, and validation of new or modified equipment.
  • Compliance: Support internal and external audits by providing necessary calibration and maintenance documentation.


Required Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in calibration, equipment maintenance, or a related technical role.
  • Education: High school diploma or GED required. (Technical certifications or an Associate degree in electronics/mechanics is a plus) .
  • Technical Skills: * Strong understanding of calibration principles and measurement systems.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical manuals, schematics, and engineering drawings.
  • Proficiency with hand tools, test equipment, and calibration instruments.
  • Basic computer skills for reporting and documentation.
  • Soft Skills: Strong problem-solving, organizational, and communication skills with the ability to work independently.


Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience in highly regulated environments such as Aerospace, Medical Device, or Pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO/IEC 17025, or GMP standards.
  • Familiarity with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS).


Physical Requirements & Work Environment

  • Environment: Ability to work on a manufacturing floor or laboratory setting, including exposure to noise, machinery, and chemicals with proper PPE.
  • Physical Demands: Ability to stand, walk, bend, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs.
  • Schedule: Primarily Monday–Friday; may require occasional overtime or weekend work based on operational needs.
