Main responsibilities:
CAKE DECORATOR
Main responsibilities:
- Decorate cakes according to special order instructions, including trimming, cutting, shaping, icing, and writing messages.
- Form decorations using tools like a flower nail and transfer them to cakes.
- Maintain quality by properly storing finished and unfinished cakes.
- Prepare bakery items including slicing bread, proofing, baking, packaging, and icing.
- Demonstrate and implement efficient product preparation and packaging techniques.
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and visual appeal of the bakery case and work area.
- Monitor and maintain proper temperatures during preparation, display, and storage.
- Assist with physical inventory and maintain accurate department records.
- Stock, rotate, and organize bakery products and cooler inventory.
- Build promotional and seasonal displays and discard outdated or spoiled products.
We are looking for candidates who possess the following:

- Ability to mentor and train others in cake decorating.
Competencies:
- Attention to detail and artistic ability in cake decoration.
- Organizational skills for inventory and display management.
- Ability to follow company policies and department standards.
Knowledge:
- Bakery department practices and procedures.
- Product variety, perishability, handling, sanitation, and labeling.
- Retail labeling laws and compliance standards.
Abilities:
- Lift and maneuver items up to 60 lbs.
- Perform repetitive arm movements and stand for long periods.
- Operate bakery equipment including mixers, ovens, slicers, and pallet jacks.
- Maintain mental alertness for safe and accurate work.
Educational requirements:
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
Travel requirements:
- Occasional travel, including overnight travel, may be required.
Other requirements:
- Compliance with grooming standards and dress code.
- May be required to work nights, weekends, and holidays.
- Exposure to refrigerated conditions and potential hazards from equipment.
