About Us

Kids & Coffee is an indoor play café designed for families with children ages 0–10. Our mission is to create a fun, safe, and welcoming space for kids to play, learn, and explore while caregivers connect and recharge.


Position Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Café Manager to oversee the daily operations of our café. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in food service management and a passion for creating an exceptional dining experience. This role requires excellent leadership skills, the ability to manage a team effectively, and a deep understanding of the food industry, particularly in casual and fine dining settings. The Café Manager will ensure that all food handling practices meet health and safety standards while providing outstanding customer service.


Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Manage daily operations of the café, ensuring high standards of food quality and service.
  • Supervise and train staff to deliver exceptional customer experiences.
  • Manage the scheduling of the team, and backfill Barista role as needed.
  • Support our Events team with planning and coordination of cafe related items
  • Oversee inventory management and vendor relations, including ordering supplies and maintaining stock levels.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations related to food handling and preparation.
  • ABC Compliance and proper handling and sale of alcoholic beverages.
  • Refine and implement operational policies and procedures to enhance efficiency.
  • Foster a positive work environment that encourages teamwork and professional growth among different departments.
  • Handle customer inquiries and complaints in a professional manner.
  • Performance Management & Coaching: Oversee the full employee lifecycle, including performance evaluations, corrective action, and professional development.
  • Food and drink recipe development: Creating seasonal menu items that align with branding and seasonal trends
  • Monitor financial performance, including sales targets, sales strategy, food and beverage costs, and waste management.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient operation of the café and the safety of our guests.


Qualifications

  • Proven experience in food service/ coffee shop management or a similar role within the café or restaurant industry.
  • Strong knowledge of food handling practices and health regulations
  • Strong knowledge of coffee and food preparation
  • Experience in casual dining environments is preferred.
  • Excellent leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing operations.
  • Passion for coffee culture and understanding of coffee preparation techniques is a plus.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends as needed.
  • Exceptional communication skills to interact effectively with customers and staff.
