Currently we are seeking a CAD Designer I to join our Product Development team to provide final 3D part design solutions for consumer products such as car seats, strollers, swings, and highchairs.
This role supports product design efforts through efficient part design that incorporates the technical details and geometry required for manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Support the product design teams in developing part designs using SolidWorks 3D CAD tools, including solid modeling and basic surfacing.
- Builds 3D parts following established CAD standards and best practices, with guidance from senior designers and engineers.
- Assists in developing a variety of part types such as tubing, sheet metal, injection-molded plastic parts, and soft goods as experience grows.
- Learns to consider manufacturability and tooling requirements when developing parts, incorporating feedback from the product design team.
- Interprets design intent and participates in iterative refinement of part geometry and aesthetics under supervision.
- Supports prototype development by preparing CAD files for in-house rapid prototyping equipment and reviewing results with the design team.
- Assists with final part and assembly updates to support accurate documentation and efficient file releases.
- Follows established CAD modeling practices, file structures, and efficiency guidelines defined by the Product Design (PD) department.

Requirements and Qualifications
Experience & Education
- One (1) to three (3) years of relevant CAD experience.
- Bachelor’s degree or technical trade school degree in Computer Aided Drafting (CAD), Engineering, Design or closely related field or equivalent work experience
- Portfolio demonstrating experience in CAD design with examples of your work.
Skills, Knowledge & Technology
Proficient in:
- SolidWorks
- 3D CAD
- Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Various Rendering Software (Sketchbook, Illustrator, Photoshop, Keyshot) a plus
- Solid modeling, detailing, assembly and analysis skills
- Design skills, including form creation and refinement, manufacturing and engineering details, and effective part and assembly file management.
- Use of model shop tools such as hand, power, and light machine tools.
Familiar with:
- Corporate travel systems, Navan preferred.
- Corporate credit card expense management software, BILL Spend & Expense preferred.
- Payroll systems, Paycom preferred.
- Ability to quickly and proficiently learn new software with ease.
