We are seeking a Software Engineer with strong skills in Java development & implementation skills  to join our team of creators. Our team is working in The Commercial and Corporate & Investment Banking Technology (CCIBT) organization, specifically in Capital Markets within our advanced Cash Equities Technology team. 

The position is for a senior software developer in the Equities Electronic Technology group to build out the Low Touch C++ Data Hub and next generation Equity Data Analytics platform for all Front Office trading groups, finance and regulatory reporting.  

Requires strong technical knowledge of C++ and a solid foundation of server design methodologies. Proficiency in Java is a big plus but not required. Must be able to write highly functional and performant code in a structured manner that can be applied to domains beyond equity electronic trading. Successful applicant will help enhance, build and deliver application frameworks and specific functionality around low latency electronic trading.  

Candidates applying for this position should be prepared to work in this software environment with the following expectations:

• Perform in the high level technical and analytics role as an individual contributor developing software for the various trading components
• Work directly with business analysts, traders, sales, operations group to understand requirements
• Read and understand business specifications and create functional specifications from them
• Create thorough designs - taking care to assure that designs integrate well into existing architecture
• Write high quality code in C++ and/or Java using object oriented principals and design patterns as appropriate
• Perform high quality thorough unit testing and documentation of development activities
• Work on complex problems where analysis of situations and/or data requires a solid grasp of business domains
• Assure quality, maintainability, and extensibility for supported systems and low latency applications
• Provide Level 2 production support as required

• 10+ years of software engineering experience
• 7+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: securities, quants, artificial intelligence, or machine learning
• 5+ years of C++ experience

• A Masters degree or higher in computer science or finance
• A professional certification in technology
• Basic knowledge of industry regulations related to building technological solutions
• Knowledge and understanding of algorithmic trading, risk trading, ETF trading, and program trading
• Knowledge and understanding of market algorithm development
• 5+ years of Object Oriented experience
• 3+ years of SQL experience
• A BS/BA degree or higher
• Capital markets experience
• Autosys experience
• Knowledge and understanding of technology platform development including large scale technology in a capital markets environment
• Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC): all phases and types of testing
• Knowledge and understanding of software development life cycle (SDLC): code control, build and deployment

• 5+ years of working with computing Algorithms and Data Structures
• 5+ years in C++ development with expert understanding of memory management, concurrency, native I/O.
• 3+ years of designing and implementing distributed systems paradigms
• Advanced experience in capital markets business and processes
• Outstanding communication skills as required for a front office role
• 5+ years of experience developing multi-tiered, low latency, highly reliable, applications 
• 3+ years in Core Java development with expert understanding of memory management, concurrency, native I/O.
• Firm understanding of Design Patterns
• Basic knowledge and understanding of SEC, FNRA, and international regulations for building technological solutions
• Knowledge and understanding of technology object oriented design patterns and their application
• Knowledge and understanding of technology architecture distributed and client server technologies
