As Business Systems Administrator for South Baltimore Gateway Partnership (SBGP), you’ll be a key force behind ensuring that our business systems align with and advance SBGP’s core business objectives and keep pace with evolving organizational needs.
The Business Systems Administrator will work closely with the Deputy Director for Operations, becoming a trusted partner with SBGP’s Leadership, helping design, configure, operate, and continuously improve SBGP’s core business systems, including Salesforce and Microsoft 365 Applications. The Business Systems Administrator also will work closely with program, institutional advancement, operations, and leadership staff to translate business needs into well-structured technology solutions, ensuring the systems remain a reliable, trusted, long-term source of business data across all functions.
This is not a traditional IT position. Rather, it sits at the intersection of business operations and systems expertise, requiring both strategic thinking and hands-on execution.
This is a hybrid position, working primarily in an office environment, and you will need to attend meetings at the office and events (with occasional evening or weekend meetings and events).

Here's a Snapshot of the Position:
Salesforce and Microsoft 365 Applications Management:
- Owns the development, configuration, implementation, integrity, and maintenance for SBGP’s business systems solutions, including Salesforce and Microsoft 365 applications.
- Provides day-to-day Salesforce administration, user and operational support, configuration, automation, and release management.
- Ensures solution designs meet performance, security, usability, reliability, and scalability requirements across SGBP systems.
- Manages contracts with outside vendors, including SBGP’s external IT support, and ensures compliance.
- Uses insights, including feedback from SBGPleadership and staff, to continuously refine and optimize system functionality.
- Builds and maintains integrations with third-party platforms.
Organization-Wide Partnership andProcess Improvement:
- Serves as a strategic resource for SBGP leadership, advising on integration strategies and overall direction of SBGP’s business systems environment.
- Proactively engages with SBGP staff to develop deep understanding of their work and business challenges.
- Translates business requirements into actionable, scalable system configurations and workflow improvements.
- Identifies opportunities to improve daily workflows and efficiencies.
- Maintains system documentation, standard operating procedures, and configuration for all systems and integrations.
Systems Support and Training:
- Develops internal training materials, reference guides, and other resources in collaboration with the Operations and leadership teams to support effective and consistent use of business systems across SBGP.
- Owns admin-level release processes for technology and database applications, staying current on necessary and appropriate enhancements that would benefit SBGP’s operations.
- Participates in or leads trainings as needed.
- Provides 1:1 assistance to internal users as needed, identifying root causes and driving resolution, whether the issue is a configuration problem, connector failure, or process/workflow gap.
- Identifies recurring systems issues and implements scalable, permanent solutions.
- Maintains clear records of systems issues, investigations, and resolutions to support continuous improvement and organizational knowledge.
Data Analysis:
- Manages data quality and integrity: deduplication support, imports/exports, data hygiene routines, and basic reporting governance.
- Uses data-driven insights to inform program strategies and improvement.
Data Visualization and Reporting:
- Develops and maintains data visualizations for internal and external partners.
- Partners with SBGP leadership and staff to support the development and maintenance of self-service reporting capabilities.
- Generates detailed reports on SBGP’s program areas using systems tools.
What You Bring:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, IT, business, or related field, or equivalent in work experience.
- 5+ years of experience in a business systems, operations technology, or related role.
- Demonstrated experience administering customer relationship management (CRM) platforms; Salesforce experience is preferred.
- Strong business acumen with the ability to understand how operational processes work and identify where technology can create leverage and efficiencies.
- Demonstrated experience managing Microsoft 365 applications.
- Skilled in Excel and database management.
- Demonstrated experience in data mapping and visualization.
- Analytical and detail-oriented with the ability to trace data or process issues across multiple systems to its root cause.
- Effective at developing and delivering technology training to internal users.
- Strong verbal and written communication abilities.
- Exceptional organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to manage multiple priorities simultaneously.
- Strong proficiency in:
- Microsoft 365 Applications
- CRM systems
- QuickBooks
- DocuSign
- Adobe Acrobat Pro
- Asana
- Virtual meeting platforms like Teams and Zoom
- Available to work occasional evenings and weekends.
It’d Be Great If You Bring:
- Salesforce Administrator Certification (ADM 201) or equivalent hands-on experience with Salesforce; or similar certification or experience for another CRM platform.
- Salesforce Nonprofit Success Pack (NSPS) Consultant Certification or equivalent NSPS-focused experience; or similar certification or experience for another CRM platform.
- Cross-functional experience within an organization, working with a variety of program and operational teams.
This Position Offers:
- Starting salary range of $71,000 to $79,000,commensurate with experience.

- Hybrid work environment. The Business Systems Administratorwill be required to work onsite at South Baltimore Gateway Partnership’s offices on Wednesday of each week, plus any other days when required to support the organization’s events/initiatives.
