Product Owner

Position Summary

Our client, a growing and innovative organization in the Newburgh, NY area, is seeking a Product Owner to help drive the evolution of its business systems and technology platforms. This individual will play a critical role in bridging the gap between business stakeholders and technical teams, ensuring that system capabilities align with organizational goals and evolving business needs.


This is a highly collaborative, business-facing role focused on understanding workflows, identifying opportunities for improvement, and translating requirements into scalable technology solutions. While this position does not involve hands-on software development, it requires strong technical acumen and the ability to work closely with developers, implementation partners, and business leaders.


Responsibilities

  • Partner with business leaders and end users to understand processes, challenges, and opportunities for improvement.
  • Gather, document, and prioritize business requirements, user stories, and system enhancements.
  • Manage and maintain a product backlog, ensuring alignment with strategic priorities.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external technology partners to deliver system improvements.
  • Participate in planning sessions, backlog refinement, testing, and product demonstrations.
  • Analyze business processes and recommend solutions that improve efficiency, visibility, scalability, and user experience.
  • Serve as the primary liaison between business teams and technical resources.
  • Support change management efforts, including user communication, training, and adoption initiatives.
  • Monitor emerging technologies and identify opportunities to leverage automation, AI, and other innovative solutions.


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in Product Ownership, Business Analysis, Business Systems, Process Improvement, or a related role.
  • Experience working with ERP, CRM, or other enterprise business applications.
  • Strong understanding of business processes and the ability to translate requirements into technical solutions.
  • Proven experience managing priorities, stakeholders, and competing business needs.
  • Excellent analytical, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to work effectively with both technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience working in Agile or Scrum environments is preferred.
  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Information Systems, Technology, or a related field is preferred.
