The Consumer Lending team partners with other businesses across Wells Fargo to create and deliver transformational experiences that help customers gain access to credit. The vision for the Consumer Lending business is to leverage technology and data to make it simple for customers to easily access credit when and where they need it. Consumer Lending serves customers across the country through our distribution network of more than 5,300 retail banking branches and Home Lending offices, as well as online and digital channels.
THE ROLE
The selected Business Support Functional Consultant 1 will ensure execution and delivery of a portfolio of transformational strategies in the Deposit and Credit Bureau Management Office (DCBMO). Initiatives will be sizeable, strategic channel or cross-LOB driven efforts requiring both business and technical project/program management and carry a substantial impact to the enterprise risk mitigation goals. The incumbent is expected to indirectly and directly lead across technology and non-technology functions as well as own all program/project/processes deliverable(s).
Acting as the Program/Portfolio Leader, the selected candidate will exhibit a desire to leverage their broad cross line of business experience and technology vantage point to ensure better connectivity across the enterprise. He/she will work to instill strategies, procedures and methods which directly impact the successful coordination and implementation of programs and projects for DCBMO. This position is being put in place to drive bold change and to radically improve our efficiency and effectiveness as an operation. The success standard of this position will be to move Wells Fargo to an industry leading position when handling credit bureau disputes, credit furnishing and consumption matters.
Primary responsibilities Include:
- Accountable for the successful execution of all assigned program / project work within DCBMO
- Program(s) leadership, status, senior and executive reporting; including, budget adherence
- Program / project roadmaps, overall prioritization with business and tech leaders
- Understand the OKRs aligned to DCBMO and specific problems each Agile team is trying to solve
- Collaborate regularly with the Product Manager, Product Owners, and Scrum Masters aligned within DCBMO to review all work and lead the right discussions to uncover challenges, blockers, resource needs.
- Articulate the health of each of the teams, agile metrics, what’s working/what’s not working, reasons behind the metric results, how that impacts delivery, and what teams are doing to address impediments including coaching plans.
- Understand if teams are operating in a way the will reduce risk and allow us to deliver successfully. Know if key control steps are being skipped, ensure agile ceremonies/scrum events are being followed and help work through challenges and/or escalate as needed. Document evidence of key controls being followed.
- Engage with Agile, Waterfall, and process only teams to identify and clear delivery impediments, escalate when necessary
- Ensure JIRA can tell the story of our progress.
- Collaborate with product owners/scrum masters to ensure work is getting into backlogs, work is pointed, and JIRA standards are followed.
- Fully leverage JIRA Enterprise and JIRA Align to help us manage the progress of work. Manage initiative/epic level plan and ensure work is properly identified to support release implementation activities.
- In partnership with the SIP, ensure work is structured appropriately in JIRA and data discrepancies are addressed.
- Resolve issues and mitigates risks by pulling the right people together to solve, bring transparency to leaders and stakeholders, drive the issue to resolution, and ensure strong risk mitigation plans.
- Monitor the operating metrics, know the team roadmaps, backlogs, and what’s groomed/not groomed, what’s committed, how many epics needed, stories, etc.
- Ensure consistent use of burn down and burn up charts.
- Produce risk plans and decisions logs.
- Work across product delivery leads to ensure a quality delivery.
Required Qualifications
- 10+ years of experience in one or a combination of the following: business support, project management, implementation, business operations or strategic planning in financial services
- 5+ years of leadership experience

Other Desired Qualifications - Significant experience consulting, collaborating, and influencing with senior leaders and line of business staff
- Experience partnering with product and support department senior leaders to problem solve and make mission critical decisions using thoughtful analyses and simplified recommendation presentment to governance and banking committees
- 5+ years of Disputes, Furnishings and/or Consumptions experience
- Workable understanding of the CDIA, FCRA, Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) and other regulations and impacting Disputes and Furnishings
- Familiarity with EWS (Early Warning Systems), and both primary CRAs (Consumer Reporting Agencies) and ancillary CRAs
- Strong understanding of multiple consumer lines of business within financial services, preferably Home Lending, Cards and Retail Services, Auto Lending, Personal Loans and Deposits
- Demonstrated ability to lead multiple high intensity, high visibility programs simultaneously
- Deep knowledge of Credit Bureau data interactions with the ability to enhance servicing practices and processes across multiple verticals
- Demonstrated experience interacting with banking regulators and preparing / reacting to related inquiries
- Previous experience implementing complex solutions across multiple lines of business impacting significant operations
- Knowledge and understanding of project management methodologies used in Waterfall and Agile development projects
- 1+ year of Agile experience
- Exceptional emotional intelligence with the ability to stay composed in high pressure situations
