POSTION SUMMARY

The Business Intake Analyst is a member of the Business Intake team that initiates the business intake process for the firm.


This role includes reviewing, modifying, and processing of requests to open or modify client matters. In doing so, this role ensures the firm maintains ethical standards in accordance with professional responsibility rules and firm policies.


This position works closely with the Firm partners, support staff, and the Manager of New Business Intake as well as the rest of the Conflicts and Business Intake Department.


Should be available for on-call.


ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

  • Process new client and matter intake submissions
  • Resolve intake issues by communicating directly with attorneys and staff.
  • Validating data including modifying when needed, routing approvals, and ensuring compliance
  • Conduct preliminary risk checks, including AML, sanctions screening, and beneficial ownership validation using firm-approved resources
  • Maintain accurate intake data and monitor workflow systems to ensure timely matter opening and proper documentation retention.
  • Assist with firmwide training of staff on intake procedure to ensure continued compliance


QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor's Degree Required.
  • 2+ years of experience in a law firm environment, conflicts department experience preferred.
  • Working knowledge of professional responsibility rules
  • Experience using conflicts software (Intapp), research tools (D&B, CapIQ), and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to analyze with attention to detail, think critically, problem-solve, and escalate when appropriate.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a team-oriented setting.
  • Ability to manage urgent tasks promptly while balancing competing priorities in a deadline driven environment
  • Professional demeanor with a customer service mindset and discretion in handling confidential information.

The anticipated pay range for this role is $75,000-$125,000 in Chicago. The actual offered rate for this position will be determined based on several factors, including qualifications and experience, geographic location, education, external market data, and consideration of internal equity.
