Business Development Manager – New Markets

Fire Rover, LLC seeks qualified, experienced and proven sales professionals for our newly established Business Development Manager - New Markets position.  The Business Development Manager - New Markets will be responsible for driving sales activities within his/her assigned territory by effectively prospecting to develop new opportunities; working closely with the Fire Rover Operations Team to develop and deliver approved Fire Rover System Design/Customer Proposals, developing new markets; reviewing market analysis and monitoring pricing objectives; managing sales funnels and accurate forecasts to ensure the growth of sales revenue.

Educate the key customer base and prospects with product seminars and personal interface. Demonstrate the desire and ability to identify business needs, areas of improvement and objectives through research and data backed decision making to effectively deliver recommendations, and/or steward new and appropriate business initiatives to benefit the company.  

Nurture customer relationships and drive sales activities/success within your vertical to ensure the continued growth and success of Fire Rover, LLC. 

 

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

• Achieve and exceed monthly, quarterly, and annual sales quota, strategic and unit sales mix objectives, profit goal and market share goals 

• Develop sales plans and strategies to increase market penetration within region.  

• Participate in annual sales strategy planning  

• Generate quotations to identify strategic key accounts monthly 

• Develop and implement action plans through periodic meetings with customers and prospects (minimum 20 visits per month) 

• Prepare and understand technical specifications, field application requirements; write and document system design for the proper generation of new system proposals to prospects and existing customers within region.   

• Conduct up to five customer presentations per month while traveling to conferences, association meetings or visits to existing customers or prospects with potential manufacturers’ representatives to end user sites 

• Communicate with the CRO to ensure customer commitments and opportunities are captured 

• Ensure performance achieves and exceeds individual monthly, quarterly and annual strategic and regional sales objectives 

• Manage individual prospecting/sales activities. Maintain sales funnel/reporting tools (HubSpot) and deliver updated sales forecasts on a weekly basis. 

• Complete and distribute reports for each field visit conducted during the month to CRO

• Direct and participate in customer appreciation programs  

Education 

Bachelor’s degree (B.S./B.A.) preferably in Mechanical Engineering, Sales, Marketing, Business, or related field experience preferred. 

Skills/Experience 

• Must be a self-starter with the ability to work autonomously as well as part of a team

• General understanding of EV fleets, Pulp & Paper, Aircraft Hanger, BESS, Process Industries, or other applicable verticals

• Knowledge of fire suppression / protection is advantageous but not required

• Proven experience in calling on and conducting sales presentations with contractors, process engineers, mechanical engineers, maintenance engineers, facility managers, facility owners, executives and planners

• General understanding of niche markets for product introduction, sales and territory development 

• Minimum five years of sales, marketing or other commercial business experience.  Preferably in a low volume, highly engineered manufacturing environment, and preferably in the areas of paper and plastics, petroleum, high-risk fire environments, and/or the municipal sales arena

• Strong customer service/relationship building skills 

• Ability to work proficiently on a cross functional team to achieve project and company goals 

• Excellent time management, communication, customer service, and interpersonal skills

• Proficient in reading and interpreting facility prints and technical specifications

• Technical aptitude and familiarity with manufacturing processes 

• Excellent people, communication (written and verbal), negotiation and facilitation skills

• Superior interpersonal, oral, written communication and problem-solving skills  

• Ability to understand and follow written and oral instructions, with acute attention to detail  

• Flexibility to adapt to deadlines, changing schedules, priorities, and unpredictable events within a fast-paced manufacturing environment 

• Ability to adapt to unfamiliar processes and situations with minimal review/supervision 

• Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects simultaneously 

• Proficient with Windows, MS Office, and CRM systems 

• Experience working with a highly motivated sales and operations team 

• Excellent verbal, written communication and presentation skills 

• Meet or exceed strategic sales, orders, quotations, winning percentage and spec project goals for Fire Rover 

• Manage metrics with action plans in strict accordance with Company goals & processes.  

• Demonstrated proficiency in time and project management 

• Ability to adapt to unfamiliar processes and situations with minimal review or supervision
