About the Opportunity

Our client, a nationally recognized law firm, is seeking an experienced Industry Teams Manager / Business Development Manager to support strategic growth initiatives within its Financial Services and Emerging Markets sectors.

This role is ideal for a business development professional with a strong law firm background who excels at developing market strategies, driving revenue growth, supporting client development efforts, and partnering with attorneys and firm leadership to execute business development initiatives.

The successful candidate will play a critical role in expanding client relationships, increasing market visibility, and supporting strategic growth objectives across key industry groups.

Key Responsibilities

Strategic Business Development

  • Develop and execute business development plans aligned with industry and practice group goals.
  • Support annual business planning and revenue growth initiatives.
  • Identify new business opportunities and assist attorneys in pursuing strategic client targets.
  • Collaborate with firm leadership to establish priorities and measure success against key objectives.

Market Intelligence & Industry Insights

  • Conduct research and analysis on industry trends, market developments, competitors, and client opportunities.
  • Monitor developments within financial services, fintech, digital assets, and other emerging markets.
  • Provide actionable market intelligence and strategic recommendations to attorneys and firm leadership.
  • Assist in identifying opportunities for new service offerings and market expansion.

Client Development & Relationship Expansion

  • Partner with attorneys and client teams to identify and facilitate cross-selling opportunities.
  • Support the development of pitches, RFP responses, presentations, and client-facing materials.
  • Help strengthen existing client relationships and uncover opportunities for expanded engagements.
  • Contribute to client targeting and pursuit strategies.

Marketing & Thought Leadership

  • Collaborate with marketing and communications teams on thought leadership campaigns and branding initiatives.
  • Coordinate industry-focused events, webinars, sponsorships, speaking engagements, and client programs.
  • Support the development and promotion of content designed to enhance the firm's visibility and reputation within target industries.

Reporting & Performance Measurement

  • Track business development initiatives, pipeline activity, and growth metrics.
  • Analyze outcomes and provide recommendations to improve effectiveness and drive results.
  • Maintain accurate data within CRM and reporting platforms.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing, Business, Communications, or a related field.
  • Required: 7+ years of business development or marketing experience within a law firm environment.
  • Experience supporting attorneys, practice groups, or industry teams in a legal setting.
  • Strong understanding of professional services business development and client relationship management.
  • Experience working with Financial Services, Banking, FinTech, Digital Assets, or related industry sectors strongly preferred.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic growth initiatives.
  • Exceptional project management skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, including the ability to interact with attorneys, firm leadership, and executive-level clients.
  • Proficiency with CRM systems, experience databases, and business intelligence tools.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.
