The Business Development Account Manager is responsible for both acquiring new clients and managing existing client relationships to drive revenue growth within the Service, Installation, Equipment, and Parts Departments. This role involves identifying new business opportunities, developing sales strategies, and maintaining strong client relationships to ensure client satisfaction and retention.
Deliver consultative expertise through Solution Selling to uncover customer needs and requirements, factoring in financial constraints and performance challenges.
Collaborate with internal Hussmann stakeholders to assess customer needs and align on strategic action plans that foster strong, profitable relationships with both new and existing clients.
Leverage cross-functional teams—including Engineering, Operations, Service, and Sales—to develop and implement customized business plans that support long-term, mutually beneficial partnerships.
Apply scalable processes where feasible to manage and advance multiple customer accounts simultaneously.
Identify and pursue growth opportunities within both existing and prospective customer accounts.
Utilize all available Hussmann resources to prepare and coordinate impactful sales presentations, including pricing strategies, engineering input, and store audits when necessary.
Analyze market conditions and competitors, and recommend strategic, actionable responses to maintain a competitive advantage.
Builds strong, multi-level relationships across customer organizations, including Purchasing, Construction, Project Management, Engineering, Energy Management, external contractors, and suppliers.
Delivers a consistently positive customer experience, ensuring satisfaction and loyalty.
Achieves AOP targets for assigned accounts and provides comprehensive business reports and annual forecasts.
Conducts facility walk-throughs and gathers key data to assess opportunities and validate project requirements.
Drives customer retention by renewing service agreements, quoting repairs and retrofits, and maintaining regular customer engagement. Leads proposal reviews and contract negotiations with all key decision-makers.
Prospects new and existing accounts through cold calls related to new construction and remodel projects.
Supports project planning and execution by coordinating with customer contacts and internal teams to ensure successful delivery.
Education: High School Diploma required, bachelor’s degree Preferred
Minimum Years of Experience: 5 to 10 years of experience

The salary range of $104,253– $156,435 annual is just one component of Hussmann’s total package. Actual compensation varies depending on the individual’s knowledge, skills, experience and location. This role may be eligible for discretionary bonuses and incentives. The minimum hourly wage for this role will be the greater of the posted range, or minimum wage for the location where the employee will be working, subject to local minimum wage requirements.
