Our client is a fast-growing mechanical and plumbing subcontractor specializing in HVAC, ductwork, sheet metal, plumbing, and general contracting based in Altadena, CA. We are seeking a field-based Business Developer with an active network of GC and owner contacts ready to activate from day one.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and grow relationships with general contractors, facility owners, and project decision-makers
- Identify new opportunities in both public and private sector construction
- Target major commercial projects; facilities, multi-family, industrial, institutional
- Coordinate closely with estimators to ensure proposals are competitive and well-positioned
- Represent the company at networking events, industry meetings, and client entertainment
- Develop strategies to break into new GC accounts and expand within existing ones
- Track pipeline, follow up diligently, and report on business development activity
Qualifications
- Proven business development experience in mechanical, HVAC, or construction services
- Strong working knowledge of mechanical systems; you need to speak credibly with estimators and GCs
- Existing network of GC contacts, facility managers, or project owners you can bring to the table
- Skill at finding decision makers and getting meetings that others can't
- Experience selling services (not equipment) in the construction trades
- Comfortable working both public and private sector markets
- Self-directed, field-oriented, and entrepreneurial in approach
Target Markets & Key Relationships
- General contractors in both public and private sectors
- Major facilities, commercial buildings, multi-family, and institutional owners
- Key GC relationships in the LA market
Compensation
- Base salary: $140,000
- Commission structure built into overall project estimates

- Home base: Altadena, CA
