Title: Business Analyst

Location: Hybrid, South San Francisco, CA (1-3x onsite per week)


We are partnering with a small, pre-IPO biotech that is hiring a new Business Analyst to support a wide range of strategic, operational, and corporate initiatives across a fast-growing biotech company. This is a high-impact role working directly with the Chief Business Officer, ideal for someone looking to transition from a strong scientific background into the business side of biotech.


This position is designed for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who thrives in a fast-paced startup environment and is eager to take ownership of diverse workstreams while learning across functions.


Key Responsibilities

  • Support development of business cases, competitive intelligence, and market landscape analyses
  • Conduct market research and customer discovery to inform strategy and business development
  • Assist in building and refining investor materials, pitch decks, and presentations
  • Coordinate with external partners (e.g., CROs, vendors, service providers) and internal stakeholders
  • Support financial operations, including budgeting, accrual tracking, and accounting processes
  • Assist with contract administration, including review coordination and execution tracking
  • Help manage corporate processes such as audits, insurance renewals, and compliance deadlines
  • Provide general operational and administrative support (invoices, documentation, follow-ups)
  • Contribute to strategic planning and cross-functional initiatives as needed


Preferred Qualifications

  • Strong scientific background (PhD preferred, or undergraduate degree with meaningful research experience)
  • 1–3 years of experience in biotech, life sciences, healthcare, consulting, venture capital, or a startup environment
  • Exposure to business functions through VC, startups, accelerators, or relevant coursework
  • Experience building presentations, pitch decks, and investor-facing materials
  • Ability to synthesize complex information into clear, structured insights
  • Highly organized with strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple workstreams
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable working independently and taking initiative
