SAS Safety Corp., a leading industrial safety manufacturer and distributor for over 40 years, is currently seeking a Business Analyst. The Business Analyst will support strategic decision-making across Purchasing, Inventory Management, Finance, and Supply Chain functions by delivering accurate data analysis, forecasting, and reporting. This role is responsible for monitoring and supporting customer demand activity, maintaining healthy inventory levels, analyzing cost impacts, and providing actionable insights to leadership. The ideal candidate combines strong analytical skills with business acumen and the ability to communicate complex data clearly.

Responsibilities:
- Evaluate customer demand forecasts on an ongoing basis to ensure inventory positions align with service level expectations and business commitments.
- Conduct in‑depth analysis of inventory performance to identify and mitigate risks related to shortages, excess stock, and slow‑moving items.
- Develop, maintain, and optimize inventory ladder plans to support strategic stock placement and maximize availability of top‑selling products.
- Generate forward‑looking inventory projections incorporating open purchase orders, supplier lead times, and demand trends.
- Partner cross‑functionally with Purchasing and Operations to align replenishment strategies with organizational priorities and operational constraints.
- Prepare and deliver monthly supplier demand forecasts to support production planning, procurement strategies, and supplier capacity alignment.
- Monitor supplier adherence to forecast commitments and recommend corrective actions or adjustments to maintain supply continuity.
- Analyze tariff exposure and landed‑cost impacts at the SKU level to inform pricing strategies and margin optimization.
- Develop cost‑scenario models and provide strategic recommendations based on market conditions, freight dynamics, tariff changes, and supplier pricing.
- Produce monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting packages covering purchasing, inventory, and financial performance for leadership review.
- Deliver executive‑level summaries highlighting key metrics, performance trends, emerging risks, and recommended actions.
- Support annual budgeting and long‑range planning through data‑driven analysis and forecasting insights.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Director of Purchasing to deliver ad hoc reporting, business analyses, and data insights for strategic initiatives and leadership requests.
- Contribute to process improvement initiatives focused on operational efficiency, reporting automation, and performance enhancement.
- Partner with Marketing and Product Development to support new product initiatives, including gate‑step process facilitation, project management, and cross‑functional reporting.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma required; Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Finance, Supply Chain, Economics, Data Analytics, or related field preferred.
- 5+ years of experience in business analysis, inventory planning, purchasing, supply chain, or finance.
- Experience working with forecasting, inventory control, and supplier planning processes preferred.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (PivotTables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas, dashboards).
- Experience with ERP systems (Sage X3) , MRP systems, or business intelligence tools (Power BI, Tableau, etc.).
- Strong attention to detail with high accuracy in reporting.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong business judgment and decision-support capabilities.
- Interpersonal skills, team-player, but able to work independently and with minimum guidance, if necessary.
- Understanding merchandising, forecasting, production planning is preferred.
- Ability to develop analytical processes and tracking methods.
- Ability to manage large volumes of data and analysis simultaneously.
- High analytical and problem-solving skills.
SAS CA salary range $95,000 - $125,000 based on experience, education, and geographic location.
