JOB SUMMARY
The Branch Manager is responsible for the overall leadership, performance, and daily operations of the branch. This role ensures operational excellence across customer service, sales support, warehousing, fill operations, delivery logistics, inventory control, facility upkeep, and employee development.
The Branch Manager is expected to lead by example and foster a workplace culture that reflects Haun Welding Supply’s values of being Helpful, Humble, Honest, and Heart-Driven. Requirements
Leadership & Team Development
- Lead, coach, and develop branch employees through clear expectations, regular communication, accountability, and recognition
- Create a positive, respectful, and performance-driven culture that supports employee engagement and retention
- Conduct hiring interviews in partnership with HR and participate in onboarding and training efforts for new employees
- Complete employee check-ins, performance reviews, coaching conversations, and disciplinary actions when necessary
- Build bench strength by cross-training employees and developing internal talent
- Ensure staffing levels and schedules support customer needs and operational efficiency
Customer Experience & Sales Growth
- Champion outstanding customer service across all branch functions
- Address customer concerns quickly, professionally, and with a solutions-first mindset
- Partner with sales leadership to identify growth opportunities, strengthen customer relationships, and expand market share
- Maintain a professional showroom, branch presentation, and customer-facing environment that reflects Haun standards
- Support strategic initiatives that improve customer communication, responsiveness, and overall experience
Operational Excellence
- Oversee day-to-day branch operations including warehouse, shipping/receiving, counter sales support, delivery coordination, and fill operations
- Drive operational efficiency by reviewing workflows, staffing deployment, and branch processes
- Monitor branch performance, expenses, profitability, and inventory metrics
- Ensure accurate receiving, product movement, inventory controls, and branch organization
- Conduct regular branch audits to maintain high operating standards
- Partner with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and continuous improvement initiatives
Safety & Compliance
- Maintain a culture where safety is non-negotiable
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, DOT, FDA, NYS Board of Pharmacy, and all applicable company standards
- Monitor driver safety, route compliance, vehicle inspections, and maintenance schedules
- Ensure all incidents, injuries, and accidents are investigated promptly, documented thoroughly, and communicated appropriately
- Hold regular safety meetings and reinforce safe operating practices daily
- Ensure SOPs are followed consistently across all branch operations
Fill Plant & Production Oversight
- Ensure industrial and medical gas filling operations meet Haun quality, safety, and compliance standards
- Maintain accurate fill records and documentation required by regulatory agencies
- Ensure equipment calibration, maintenance, and operating procedures meet required specifications
- Train and monitor employees responsible for production activities to ensure compliance and consistency
- Verify customer-owned cylinders meet compliance requirements before filling or delivery
Facility & Asset Management
- Maintain branch building, grounds, and equipment in a safe, clean, organized, and professional condition
- Coordinate preventative maintenance for branch assets and vehicles
- Protect company resources through strong operational controls and accountability
Qualifications
- Associate degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree strongly preferred
- 3–5+ years leadership experience in distribution, industrial operations, manufacturing, or related environment
- Demonstrated success leading teams, improving operations, and driving accountability
- Strong financial and business acumen
- Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
- Strong communication, leadership, and conflict resolution skills
- Ability to balance strategic thinking with hands-on operational leadership
