Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA)

Summary

Under general supervision, the Board-Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA) is responsible for conducting behavioral assessments, developing individualized treatment plans, and providing evidence-based interventions for students with developmental disabilities and autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The BCBA collaborates closely with teaching staff, related service providers, and families to promote a positive, inclusive, and supportive learning environment.


Key Responsibilities

Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBA) and develop Behavior Intervention Plans (BIPs).

Analyze psychological, educational, and adaptive behavior assessments.

Design and oversee ABA-based behavior support strategies and skill acquisition programs.

Collaborate with teachers and classroom staff to implement behavior management techniques.

Participate in IEP meetings, case conferences, and team meetings.

Provide coaching, modeling, and training to instructional staff.

Collect and analyze data to monitor student progress and adjust programming.

Communicate effectively with parents/guardians.

Provide staff development and training on ABA strategies.

Support classroom needs including transitions, feeding, toileting, and crisis management.

Maintain accurate documentation in compliance with DOE regulations.

Stay current with best practices in behavior analysis and early childhood development.


Qualifications

Master’s degree in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Special Education, or related field.

Active BCBA certification in good standing.

Minimum of 5 years experience developing and implementing behavior support plans.

Strong knowledge of ABA principles and methodologies.

Experience in school-based and interdisciplinary settings.

Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.

Ability to train and support educators and paraprofessionals.

Commitment to inclusive practices and cultural competence.


Work Environment

Primary work takes place in a preschool setting with young children with varying needs. Environment includes typical classroom noise and activity levels. Travel between program sites may be required.
