Jefferson Healthcare has an opening for a full-time Biomedical Technician (Biomed Tech). This role will provide equipment repair, maintenance, user training, and equipment tracking on all clinical equipment. Education/training in Biomed either from a program or in the military is key for this role. Other primary duties include:

  • Trains end users, advises in-house staff on purchases of new equipment, track user errors, equipment warranties and recalls
  • Tracks vendor's service work and signs off on all medical equipment repairs and maintenance work
  • Maintains all Bio-medical manuals for equipment including, but not limited to user, maintenance manuals, purchase orders, service contracts, and vendor maintenance records
  • Ensures medical equipment is maintained per manufacturer's recommendations.
  • Follows through with medical equipment warranties and manufacturer recalls
  • Ensures medical equipment will be on a preventive maintenance schedule
  • Ensures preventive maintenance records are set up by location, is comprehensive, accurate and retrievable upon request
  • Ensures quality assurance checks reveal no discrepancies in maintenance schedule
  • Manages all medical equipment service vendors and contracts
  • Conducts pre-purchase analysis and evaluation for medical equipment and nonmedical equipment and systems

What you'll need:

  • High school diploma or GED equivalent required. Associate's/Bachelor's degree preferred
  • Biomed certification and radiology specialist certification preferred
  • Four years of Biomedical equipment maintenance experience with emphasis on maintaining and repairing medical equipment preferred
  • Two years of medical equipment repair experience in a rural setting preferred

Schedule: 1.0 FTE; 40 hours/week; day shifts.
