Schedule: Full-Time | Mon – Fri, 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM

Hiring Range: $21.52 - $26.90 per hour

Take your revenue cycle expertise to the next level in a dynamic role. As a Billing Specialist III at the Puyallup Tribal Health Authority (PTHA), you will perform advanced billing functions — including claim processing, payment posting, insurance verification, and denial resolution — while also supporting team workflows, reporting, and compliance. Your work ensures patient accounts are managed with precision, timeliness, and full alignment with payer requirements and organizational standards.


What You’ll Do:

  • Perform advanced billing functions, including claim submission (CMS-1500/ADA), payment posting, and insurance verification
  • Manage high-volume medical, dental, and orthodontic claims with a focus on accuracy and timeliness
  • Investigate and resolve denied or rejected claims; collaborate with coding staff as needed
  • Monitor and manage A/R aging reports, ensuring timely follow-up and resolution
  • Submit electronic claims (837) and reconcile remittance advice (835) daily
  • Analyze payer reports to identify trends, errors, and process improvement opportunities
  • Coordinate daily team workflows and serve as a resource for complex billing issues
  • Support team development through training, onboarding, and guidance
  • Generate reports, oversee month-end processes, and maintain compliance with all regulatory and Tribal billing requirements

What You Bring:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • Six (6) years of recent experience in medical billing or revenue cycle operations
  • Two (2) years of Medicare billing experience
  • Demonstrated expertise in advanced billing functions, denial resolution, and workflow coordination
  • Dental billing experience preferred
