Position Details

Cross Country Education is seeking dedicated Behavioral Intervention Instructors (BIIs) to support students across elementary, middle, and high school settings in Palos Verdes, California for the 2026-2027 school year.


We currently have multiple openings available supporting students in one-to-one educational settings using Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) methodologies. BIIs will work directly with students who present with challenging behaviors and provide support across academic, behavioral, social, and daily living activities.


Location: A school district in Palos Verdes, CA (ZIP Codes 90274 & 90275)

School Year: 2026-2027 (August 2026 - June 2027)

Schedule: Approximately 30 hours per week


Available Placements:

  • Elementary School (2 openings)
  • Middle School (1 opening)
  • High School (1 opening)


Typical Hours:

Elementary School

  • Monday: 8:15 AM – 1:30 PM
  • Tuesday-Friday: 8:15 AM – 3:00 PM

Middle School

  • Monday: 8:15 AM – 2:00 PM
  • Tuesday-Friday: 8:15 AM – 3:00 PM

High School

  • Monday, Tuesday, Thursday, Friday: 8:30 AM – 3:15 PM
  • Wednesday: 10:15 AM – 3:15 PM


Compensation $27.50/hr on W-2

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one support for students receiving behavioral services
  • Implement Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) intervention plans aligned with IEP goals
  • Collect, document, and report behavioral and academic data
  • Assist students across educational settings including classroom, community-based instruction, and transition activities
  • Support behavior management plans and utilize positive behavior intervention strategies
  • Collaborate with teachers, special education staff, related service providers, and administrators
  • Assist with curriculum modifications and accommodations as directed
  • Provide physical assistance to students when necessary
  • Support students with toileting and personal care needs when required
  • Maintain confidentiality and accurate documentation


Requirements

  • Minimum of one year of full-time Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) experience required
  • Completion of a 40-hour seminar or workshop in Applied Behavior Analysis required
  • Strong understanding of ABA methodologies and behavioral intervention strategies
  • Knowledge of child development principles
  • Experience collecting and documenting behavioral data
  • Ability to implement classroom behavior management techniques
  • Ability to safely assist students with physical support needs
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain accurate records and documentation
  • Proficiency with standard office technology and software
