Jumping Brook Country Club in Neptune is seeking an experienced Banquet Manager to oversee banquet operations with a strong focus on wedding execution and day-of event management. This role works closely with the Director of Catering to ensure seamless coordination and exceptional guest experiences. The ideal candidate is highly organized, service-driven, and thrives in a fast-paced event environment.
This role oversees event logistics, manages banquet staff, and collaborates closely with sales, culinary, and operations teams to deliver seamless events that meet client expectations and company standards.
Responsibilities
- Manage all banquet operations with primary responsibility for on-site wedding execution
- Serve as the day-of contact for wedding clients, bridal parties, and families
- Execute Banquet Event Orders (BEOs) accurately, including timelines, floor plans, menus, and special requests
- Coordinate with vendors (DJ/band, florist, photographer, planner, officiant) to ensure smooth event flow
- Oversee ceremony setups, cocktail hours, receptions, and weather contingency plans
- Supervise, train, and lead banquet staff during events to maintain high service standards
- Recruit, train, schedule, and supervise banquet captains, servers, bartenders, and support staff
- Lead pre-event briefings to ensure staff is informed and prepared
- Ensure proper food presentation, service timing, and compliance with food safety standards
- Manage banquet inventory, supplies, linens, and equipment
- Monitor labor and operational costs while maintaining service quality
- Address guest and client concerns promptly and professionally during events
- Oversee event breakdown, venue reset, and post-event reporting
Qualifications & Experience
- Minimum 4* years* of banquet or hospitality management experience
- Hands-on experience managing weddings and large-scale social events required
- Proven ability to lead teams in guest-facing environments
- Strong knowledge of wedding timelines, service standards, and event logistics
- Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills
- Strong understanding of food & beverage operations and service standards
- Ability to work nights, weekends, and holidays during peak wedding season
