Overview
A successful baler operator is to operate bailing equipment to compress and bind materials like cardboard or scarp into dense bales. This also includes tasks like setting up and performing basic adjustments on the machine, monitoring its performance, and performing routine maintenance and clean-up of the equipment and work area to ensure safe and efficient operation.

Baler Franklin, OH Compensation Includes - Starting Pay Rate of $18.85/hour Available Shift - Nights: 7pm - 7am Overview A successful baler operator is to operate bailing equipment to compress and bind materials like cardboard or scarp into dense bales. This also includes tasks like setting up and performing basic adjustments on the machine, monitoring its performance, and performing routine maintenance and clean-up of the equipment and work area to ensure safe and efficient operation. Responsibilities - Operate baling machine - Performs housekeeping of baler room - Moves scrap to baling machine - Places scrap in shredder of baling machine - Check chute to make sure it is not clogged - Ensures bales are properly tied off with wire - With forklift, removes bales from end of baler and loads onto trailers staged in docks - Balling plastic up running dust collector 30 minutes a shift - Weigh every 3 Bales - Blowing off catwalks, cleaning all during your shift - End of shift paperwork to be signed off on - Collect Scrap bins from corrugator and printer department - Notifies supervisor when mechanical issues arise - Follows SOP for safe & efficient operation of baling equipment - Shuts down equipment & notifies supervisors when baler becomes in-operable Qualifications - Must have a High School Diploma or GED - Must be a team player with a “can do” attitude - Should possess basic mechanical skills - Capable of working in hot environment and in areas where inks and lubricants are used - Must be capable of standing for long periods of time - Must be able to frequently lift and carry 25 lbs. and occasionally up to 50 lbs - Must have basic troubleshooting abilities - Must have good communication skills and be able to read and understand basic English - Basic computer and math skills
