The Pastry Cook is responsible for preparing all pastry and bakery products in accordance with Pastry Shop standards. This role supports higher-level bakers and pastry chefs, ensuring quality, consistency, and adherence to recipes and presentation guidelines. The position requires precision, attention to detail, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced culinary environment.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
• Prepare pastries, desserts, baked goods, and specialty items as trained and directed.
• Follow standardized recipes, portion guidelines, and presentation requirements.
• Assist higher-level bakers and pastry chefs with production tasks and banquet needs.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of the Pastry Shop, equipment, and storage areas.
• Ensure proper labeling, rotation, and storage of all ingredients and finished goods.
• Assist with inventory, receiving, and proper handling of products.
• Uphold all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene standards.
• Support special events, seasonal menus, and high-volume production periods as assigned.
• Perform other duties as assigned by the Chef or Pastry leadership.
• Previous experience in pastry, baking, or culinary operations preferred.
• Ability to follow recipes accurately and maintain consistent quality.
• Strong attention to detail with a focus on presentation.
• Ability to work standing for extended periods and lift up to 50 pounds.
• Must be available for weekends, holidays, and flexible scheduling based on business needs.
