HireQ Talent is working with a fast‑growing, well-funded fintech company rebuilding the U.S. mortgage industry from the ground up.


Rather than optimizing around legacy processes, the company is building a fully automated, vertically integrated platform covering credit, compliance, capital, and underwriting, replacing manual workflows with software.

The Role


We’re hiring Senior Backend Engineers (multiple hires) to design and own high‑stakes financial systems where correctness is critical.

You’ll be responsible for encoding complex, real‑world financial logic into production systems where precision, edge cases, and reliability directly impact business outcomes.


What You’ll Do

  • Translate dense, rule heavy financial logic into scalable backend systems
  • Build core underwriting and decisioning infrastructure using TypeScript, DSLs, and AI
  • Work directly with subject matter experts to model nuance, exceptions, and edge cases
  • Design systems for precision, observability, and failure handling
  • Build internal tools that power automated decision‑making workflows
  • Apply AI in real production environments, not prototypes


What We’re Looking For

  • 3+ years backend engineering experience (mid → senior level)
  • Strong experience with TypeScript and backend systems design
  • Experience in fintech, payments, SaaS, or other regulated domains
  • Background at a high‑growth startup, top tech company, or leading fintech
  • Proven ability to translate complex business rules into production systems
  • Comfortable working closely with non‑technical domain experts

Strong Signals

  • Experience with DSLs, rule engines, or workflow orchestration
  • Exposure to AI / agentic systems in production
  • Background in high reliability or compliance‑heavy systems

Compensation

  • 💰 $150K–$250K base (flexible for exceptional candidates)
