The AV Supervisor reports to the IT Customer Experience Manager.The primary job duties of this position include:
Team Leadership & Operations
Supervise and mentor AV Specialists I–III; provide coaching, performance feedback, and professional development.
Coordinate daily AV operations, including scheduling, task assignments, and support for internal and public-facing events.
Serve as the Town's subject matter expert and authority on AV standards, policies, and best practices
Serve as the escalation point for complex AV issues and high-visibility events (e.g., Council meetings, livestreams).
Provide direction and support of complex AV systems in critical spaces such as the Town’s Public Safety Training Facility, Advocacy Center, Dispatch Center and Emergency Operations Center.
Explore and define business requirements for AV capabilities that enhance Town operations and public engagement
Foster a culture of customer service, accountability, and continuous improvement.
Technology & Infrastructure
Establish, administer, and manage the Town's AV infrastructure, including workflows, system configurations, and operational standards for Council Chambers, conference rooms, public spaces, and remote/hybrid environments
Oversee the maintenance, upgrades, and lifecycle of AV systems in Council Chambers, conference rooms, and public spaces.
Ensure AV systems meet accessibility, cybersecurity, and technical standards (e.g., ADA, NIST, AV-over-IP security).
Collaborate with IT, Networking, and Facilities teams to support hybrid meetings, video conferencing, and AV-over-IP systems.
Project & Vendor Management
Lead AV projects from planning through implementation, including needs assessment, budgeting, and vendor coordination.
Manage vendor relationships, contracts, and procurement of AV equipment and services.
Maintain documentation of AV systems, configurations, and procedures.
Strategic Planning & Budgeting
Develop and maintain a five-year AV replacement and improvement plan.
Prepare and manage AV budgets; provide recommendations for capital improvement projects.
Contribute to long-term planning aligned with the Town’s technology and service goals.
Stakeholder Engagement & Communication
Actively participate in IT Leadership discussions, strategic planning processes, and cross-departmental training initiatives.
Present AV strategies, project updates, and performance metrics to leadership and stakeholders.
Facilitate training for staff and departments on AV tools and best practices.

Associate’s degree in Information Technology, Audio Visual Technology, or related field.
CTS (Certified Technology Specialist) or equivalent AV certification.
5+ years of experience in AV systems support, including 2+ years in a leadership or supervisory role.
Strong knowledge of AV technologies (e.g., Crestron, Extron, Dante, AV-over-IP).
Experience with livestreaming, video conferencing, and hybrid meeting environments.
Excellent communication, organizational, and project management skills.
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in IT, Audio Visual Technology, Business Information Systems or related field.
Experience in municipal or government environments.
Familiarity with budgeting, procurement, and public meeting support.
Network+ Certification.
Valid Arizona Driver’s License.
Knowledge of:
Information technology terminology, practices, and procedures
Audiovisual industry standards, best practices, and emerging technologies
Regulatory requirements, including accessibility (ADA), cybersecurity (NIST), public records laws, and data privacy
Project management methodologies and change management principles
Basic network administration, IP-based systems, and IT infrastructure principles
Municipal government operations, public meeting requirements, and stakeholder engagement
This position requires a pre-employment drug screen. Special Requirement: Because of the confidential, sensitive nature of information handled, successful completion of an extensive Police Department Background Investigation is required.
